(NEW YORK) -- Harry Morgan, famous for his work on two classic TV shows, Dragnet and M*A*S*H, has died. The actor passed away Wednesday morning at his home in California, his son Charles confirms to The New York Times.
Morgan played Col. Sherman T. Potter on M*A*S*H from 1975 to 1983, replacing McLean Stevenson's Col. Henry Blake as the commanding officer of the Korea War-era 4077th mobile field hospital. He previously starred in an updated Dragnet series which ran from 1967-1970, and appeared in more than 100 films throughout his career.
Morgan reprised his Emmy winning role as Potter, albeit briefly, in the short-lived civilian-life spin-off AfterMASH.
