Matthew Morrison to Open for New Kids-Backstreet Boys Tour

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Matthew Morrison was supposed to kick off his solo tour in June, right after the Glee Live! tour wrapped up.  However, those plans have changed.

Morrison announced on ABC's Good Morning America Tuesday that he's decided to postpone his own solo dates for a sting as the opening act on the upcoming New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys tour.

Morrison's dates with the NKOTBSB tour will start July 6 and run through Aug. 7.  He'll do some solo dates after that.

In a statement, he said, "This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.  I am so appreciative of my fans and I'm planning to give them a great show."

Morrison's self-titled debut album is in stores now.

Matthew Morrison to Perform New Song on 'Glee' Season Finale

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Blurring the lines between the real world and TV, Matthew Morrison will perform a song from his new self-titled debut album on the Glee season finale May 24.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morrison will sing "Still Got Tonight," which was co-written by American Idol season nine champ Kris Allen, while sitting alone on a stage in an empty Broadway theater.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that the scene works because the song is "about aspiration."

He explained, "We wanted to do a scene where Matt goes into a Broadway hall and sings something alone....we worked really hard to make it feel organic to the show."

Morrison said he's so happy with the way the scene ended up that he may turn it into the song's official video.  His self-titled debut album is in stores Tuesday.

Matthew Morrison to Duet with Gwyneth Paltrow on Debut Album

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Matthew Morrison's debut album is shaping up to be quite the star-studded affair: he'll be duetting with not one, but two Oscar winners.

As previously reported, the Glee star has recorded a duet with Elton John for the project, but now Entertainment Weekly reports that fellow Gleek Gwyneth Paltrow is also on board.  Morrison and Paltrow will perform "Over the Rainbow" on the disc -- fitting, because that's the song that Morrison used to audition for Glee, and he's performed it on the show, as well.

As for why he wanted Paltrow on the disc, Morrison told EW, "I wanted to do a duet with a female.  I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of's beautiful."

Morrison's debut album is due in May.

Paltrow, as Holly Holliday, will return to Glee on April 19.
