(LOS ANGELES) -- Going to jail is a very real possibility for Lindsay Lohan. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz told the Mean Girls star during a hearing Wednesday she will go to jail if she accepts a plea deal in connection with charges she stole a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store last month. Judge Schwartz told Lohan he would sentence her to jail if she pleaded guilty or no contest, adding that if she doesn't accept a plea deal, the matter will head towards a preliminary hearing.
Lohan is scheduled to return to court March 10th when the case could be wrapped up or a time for a new hearing will be scheduled. It's unclear what kind of plea deal may have been offered by the prosecution.
