(HOLLYWOOD) -- The former talent manager of Melissa Joan Hart has sued the actress for allegedly refusing to pay commissions on money she earned for her work on the ABC Family series Melissa & Joey.
In the complaint from Kieren Maguire, he claims, “Melissa Joan Hart has no heart.” The suit, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, goes on to state, “This case is one more incident of an actress who seeks to take advantage of, mistreat and thumb her nose at those in her employ – in this instance the person who rescued her career as it was plummeting towards obscurity.”
Maguire says he represented Hart for five years, including the time she landed the series Melissa & Joey, until he was fired in March 2011. Hart is now allegedly refusing to pay commissions owed to Maguire beyond those for the first year of the show.
The complaint alleges that Melissa was paid just $3,750 per episode of the first season of Melissa & Joey, plus $10,200 in extra commissions. Representatives for Hart have yet to comment.
