Miranda Cosgrove Injured in Tour Bus Crash

ABC News(VANDALIA, Ill.) -- Miranda Cosgrove, the 18-year-old actress-singer who stars in the Nickelodeon hit iCarly, suffered a broken ankle when her tour bus crashed in southern Illinois on Thursday.

Reports say that Cosgrove's bus was involved in an accident with a disabled semi-tractor trailer in Vandalia, Illinois.

There appears to be conflicting reports regarding the conditions of the other passengers on the bus.  According to one local news station, the passengers were in good condition, and the bus driver is in fair condition.

However, a People magazine source says Cosgrove's mother was on the bus and "got really beaten up by the crash," though she's expected to fully recover.  The source also tells the magazine that the bus driver is in critical condition.  The source says Cosgrove was "really shaken up" following what the supposed insider describes as a "life-threatening crash."

As a result of the accident, Cosgrove has postponed her Dancing Crazy Summer Tour, which was scheduled to stop in Wichita, Kan., on Friday.  People magazine reports that Cosgrove is planning on resuming the tour in the fall.

The event, which was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, took place at the National Building Museum and benefited the Children’s National Medical Center.  Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and R&B star Maxwell also performed for the president, first lady Michelle Obama, the couple’s two children and a Washington audience of VIPs.

The Washington Post reports Mariah Carey opened the show wearing a glittering maroon dress with a bow that dangled over her baby bump.  Mariah performed the song “One Child” from her new Christmas album, and returned later in the show to sing “O Come, All Ye Faithful” during the cast finale.

Annie Lennox performed “Universal Child” from her new release, A Christmas Cornucopia, and also sang "Gloria in Excelsis Deo.”  Glee star Matthew Morrison sat on a stool and strummed a ukulele as he sang Bing Crosby’s Hawaiian Christmas classic, “Mele Kalikimaka.”
