Lady Gaga Sets Record with 'Monster Ball' Tour
Peter Kramer/NBC(NEW YORK) -- Lady Gaga wrapped up her Monster Ball tour on May 6 in Mexico City, and made history in the process.
According to Billboard, it was the biggest tour ever by an artist making their debut as a headlining act. Since it kicked off in November of 2009, the tour has grossed $227 million and played to 2.5 million people over about 200 shows. In fact, when all the numbers are tallied, it's got a shot at ranking as one of the top 10 highest-grossing tours ever by any artist, new or established.
Gaga's manager told Billboard, "We're humbled by the tremendous success of the Monster Ball tour. The reasonably-priced tickets, coupled with a great live experience, led it to being a must-see event."
