Neil Young Announces Solo Tour Dates

Reprise Records(NEW YORK) -- Neil Young has announced dates for a solo tour this spring.

It kicks off on April 15 in Durham, North Carolina and will conclude on May 7 with a show in Chicago.  Young will be performing songs off of his newest album, Le Noise, along with some of the classics from his extensive catalog.

Inductors Announced for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Rolling Stone reports that Elton John, Paul Simon and Neil Young are among the big names who'll be serving as inductors at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, scheduled to take place March 14 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.  Elton will induct his hero and collaborator, Leon Russell, into the sideman category.  Young will induct his longtime friend Tom Waits, while Paul Simon will do the honors for Neil Diamond.  Before finding fame as artists in their own right, both Simon and Diamond worked as professional songwriters at New York's famous Brill Building.

In addition, Grammy-winning R&B star John Legend will induct New Orleans piano legend Dr. John, while Rob Zombie will induct his hero and tour partner Alice Cooper.  Bette Midler will do the honors for Darlene Love, one of her idols.

In the non-performers category, Doors keyboard player John Densmore will induct Jac Holzman, founder of Elektra Records, the Doors' label, and R&B legend Lloyd Price will induct Art Rupe, who founded Specialty Records and discovered Price.  The ceremony will be telecast on Fuse.

Neil Young to Receive Humanitarian Award at Junos

Photo Courtesy - John Shearer/WireImage/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Neil Young will be awarded the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award at the Canadian Juno awards on March 27, according to Billboard.  The award recognizes Canadian artists whose actions and humanitarian work leave a positive impact on their country. 

Young, who is a U.S. resident, still holds his Canadian citizenship and is active in social programs within the country.  He's also a five-time Juno recipient. He was inducted into Canada's Music Hall of Fame in 1982 and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2010. 

The Junos are Canada's  of the Grammy Awards.

Neil Young's 'Le Noise Film' to be Released on DVD, Blu-Ray

Photo Courtesy - Reprise Records(NEW YORK) -- Neil Young will release his 38-minute black and white movie, Le Noise Film, on DVD and Blu-ray on Dec. 21. 

As its title suggests, the film, which premiered online in September, features Young performing all of the songs from his recent Grammy-nominated album Le Noise.  The movie was shot by Adam CK Vollick and the album was produced by the legendary Daniel Lanois, best known for his work with U2, Bob Dylan, and Peter Gabriel.
