Matthew Morrison to Open for New Kids-Backstreet Boys Tour

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Matthew Morrison was supposed to kick off his solo tour in June, right after the Glee Live! tour wrapped up.  However, those plans have changed.

Morrison announced on ABC's Good Morning America Tuesday that he's decided to postpone his own solo dates for a sting as the opening act on the upcoming New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys tour.

Morrison's dates with the NKOTBSB tour will start July 6 and run through Aug. 7.  He'll do some solo dates after that.

In a statement, he said, "This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.  I am so appreciative of my fans and I'm planning to give them a great show."

Morrison's self-titled debut album is in stores now.

New Kids, Backstreet Boys Reveal Track Listing for Joint Album

Interscope/Legacy Recordings/Sony/Jive(NEW YORK) -- Back on March 14, New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys asked their fans to vote online to choose which of their classic hits should be included on their first-ever joint album.

The fans have now spoken, and the groups have revealed the track listing for NKOTBSB -- The Album, which is coming out May 24.

Fans from over 52 countries cast over 250,000 votes during the 10-day online voting campaign, and it's no surprise that massive hits like "I Want It That Way," "Hangin' Tough," "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)" and "Step by Step" made the cut.  In addition to those classic hits and more, the joint disc also includes two new songs featuring both groups -- the first single, "Don't Turn Out the Lights," and another track called "All in My Head."

The album will also include an exclusive tour poster, photos and personalized messages from each band member.

Jordin Sparks Lands Opening Spot on NKOTBSB Tour

Jive Records(LOS ANGELES) -- Jordin Sparks has been lucky enough to open for some big names in the business, including Britney Spears and The Jonas Brothers. Now, she's landed another big tour.

AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys and Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block announced on Ryan Seacrest's radio show Tuesday that Sparks would be the opening act for their upcoming joint summer tour.

Sparks wrote on Twitter, "SUPER EXCITED 2 be on the NKOTBSB tour!  I've been wanting 2 let you know since I found out!  I know we have die hard fans coming!!  You ready??"

New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys Reveal First Joint Single

Interscope/Legacy Recordings/Sony/Jive(NEW YORK) -- New Kids on the Block and The Backstreet Boys have performed together several times over the past year, but it was always a medley of both groups' hits.

Now, in anticipation of their upcoming tour together, the two acts have released their first-ever joint single, "Don't Turn Out the Lights."  It'll appear on an forthcoming album that will feature re-recordings of the two groups' classic tunes, as well as some original songs.

The CD is due out May 24, and the joint tour kicks off May 25 in Rosemont, Illinois.

NKOTBSB Asks Fans to Pick Past Hit Songs for New Album

Interscope/Legacy Recordings/Sony/Jive(NEW YORK) -- Members of New Kids on the Block and The Backstreet Boys are asking their fans to help them decide which ten of their classic tunes will be re-recorded for their new super-group NKOTBSB's album, scheduled to be released May 24.

NKOTBSB has set up a website where fans can vote for their top five favorite New Kids on the Block songs and top five Backstreet Boys songs. The votes, which are being collected from March 14 to March 24, will then be tallied to see which songs will be re-recorded and included on the new album.

In addition to the winning tunes, the album will feature original songs from NKOTBSB, including the first single, "Don't Turn Out the Lights."

New Kids, Backstreet Boys to Play in Fenway Park

Photo Courtesy - Interscope/Legacy Recordings/Sony/Jive(BOSTON) -- New Kids on the Block formed in Boston in 1984, and this summer the group is set to take the stage at that city's famed Fenway Park, along with their tour mates The Backstreet Boys.

The two groups have announced a June 11 date at Fenway Park, with tickets going on sale Feb. 5 at 10:00 a.m. via and  The group is moving their previously-scheduled June 11 show, in Long Island, New York, to July 31 in order to play this special gig.

In a statement, New Kids member Donnie Wahlberg said, "As a group of South Boston kids, we never thought we would get an opportunity like this.  Our dreams are coming true.  And one of the best parts is that we get to share this moment with our friends the Backstreet Boys."

The joint NKOTBSB tour kicks off June 2 in Uncasville, Connecticut.  New dates have just been added in New York and Chicago, and new stops in a few more cities in North America have been tacked onto the trek, for a total of more than 50 stops.

New Kids, Backstreet Boys Added to 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve'

Photo Courtesy - Interscope Records(NEW YORK) -- Ryan Seacrest will welcome two very special guests to his stage on New Year's Eve: New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys.

Both groups, who'll be touring together in 2011, have joined the lineup of ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and will perform in New York City's Times Square right before the ball drops.  Other performers on this year's show include Jennifer Hudson, Avril Lavigne, Natasha Bedingfield, and Train.

Fergie will host the West Coast portion of the show, while Jenny McCarthy will help out Seacrest in New York.  The show gets underway at 10:00 p.m. ET Dec. 31 on ABC.

New Kids, Backstreet Boys Announce Initial Joint Tour Dates 

Photo Courtesy - Interscope/Jive(NEW YORK) -- New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys have announced the first few dates of their upcoming joint tour next summer.  The tour will get underway June 9 in Toronto, and right now, dates are scheduled through July 1.  Tickets for the dates go on sale starting Nov. 19.

The two groups' first televised joint appearance will be on the American Music Awards Nov. 21 on ABC.

The two groups decided to team up for a joint tour after Backstreet joined the New Kids onstage at Radio City Music Hall earlier this year for a performance of "I Want It That Way."

In a statement, the Backstreet Boys said, "It’s a night of continuous music, hit after hit.  We are going to give people a show to remember.  We want to make this a night that people will never forget.  We want to give them something to take them to another place that they’ve never been before."
