ABC Exclusive: Taylor Swift Reveals New Album, "Red," and Drops New Single

Kevin Mazur/WireImage via ABC(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Taylor Swift has written the next chapter of her “Love Story,” and she means business.

The six-time Grammy winner debuted the name and cover of her brand-new album, Red, which will be out on Oct. 22, and premiered the album’s first single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” during a live Webcast Monday in Nashville, taking fan questions in real time afterwards. Aug. 13 was an apt choice for the announcement date because 13 is the Swift’s lucky number and over 72,500 viewers tuned in.

Swift said she decided to use the title Red because “it was really simple” and epitomized the different emotions she experienced in the crazy, “semi-toxic” relationships she’s had in the past two years, and “there’s nothing beige about that.” The singer also revealed that she wrote “30 to 35″ songs for the album, but whittled it down to 16 tracks, which include a duet with recording artist Ed Sheeran.

“I am so excited for you to hear the new direction of things,” Swift said, adding that “really dysfunctional” and “not good” relationships can provide “a lot of inspiration.”

Her new song, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” which is about ending a bad relationship, is out Monday on iTunes and GooglePlay. While at a shoot for Glamour magazine, the 22-year-old singer told Nightline anchor Cynthia McFadden exclusively that the song was about something that actually happened to her.

“Writing ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ was one of the most hilarious experiences I have ever had in the studio because it just happened so naturally,” Swift told McFadden.

Swift said the song was born while she was in the studio with songwriters Max Martin and Johan Shellback and a friend of her ex’s -- she declined to name names -- walked in.

“He starts talking about how he’s heard we were getting back together and that was not the case,” Swift said. "When he leaves, Max and Johan are like, ‘so what’s the story behind that?’ And so I start telling them the story of break up, get back together, break up, get back together, just, ugh, the worst.”

“Max says, ‘this is what we’re writing. We’re writing this song,’ and I picked up the guitar and just started singing, ‘we are never-- ’” she continued. “It just happened so fast. It was so much fun.”

Swift, who is one of the most successful country-pop crossover artists ever and has over 17 million Twitter followers, has made a career out of turning feelings of heartache and longing into smash hit singles, including "Love Story,” "Sparks Fly” and "You Belong With Me.”

Red will be the singer’s fourth studio album. Swift’s previous 2010 album, Speak Now, won her two Grammys and sold over one million copies in its first week.

The rest of McFadden’s interview with Taylor Swift will come later this fall in a Glamour profile as well as on Good Morning America and Nightline. Tune into Nightline TONIGHT at 11:35 p.m. ET to get an exclusive sneak peek.

Lady Gaga's New Single "Judas" is Now Online

Peter Kramer/NBC(NEW YORK) -- Lady Gaga's new single Judas wasn't supposed to be released until Tuesday, but wouldn't you know -- on Friday, the entire song appeared online.  Gaga acknowledged this by tweeting, "The Real Judas -- He's Everywhere, Now. Don't Stop 'Til He's Yours."  She included a picture of what is likely the official artwork to the track -- a red cross with a heart in the middle against a black background.

Judas the song is very reminiscent of "Bad Romance," with a chant that goes "Jude-as, Jude-ee-ah-ahs, Jude-as, Jude-ee-ah-ahs,  Gaga," and a very melodic chorus.  The lyrics include this gem, which Gaga also tweeted: "I've learned love is like a brick/you can build a house or sink a dead body."  The chorus goes, "I'm just a holy fool/baby it's so cruel/ but I'm still in love with Judas, baby."

Lady Gaga Said to Have Worked on Two Tracks for J-Lo's New Album

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- A second song off of Jennifer Lopez’s album Love? leaked online last week, and this one comes with a pretty impressive pedigree -- Lady Gaga apparently had a hand in creating it.

After the song, titled "Invading My Mind," went online, Gaga's producer, RedOne, revealed on his Twitter page, "For those who don't know, Lady Gaga worked with me on two records for JLO, 'Invading My Mind' and [another] one coming soon!!"

No word yet on what the other song is called.

"Invading My Mind" has the same kind of electro-dance sound as Lopez's current hit, "On the Floor."  There's still no release date for the album.

Kim Kardashian's New Single Debuts

Photo Courtesy - PRNewsFoto/Simmons Jewelry Co.(LOS ANGELES) -- Kim Kardashian's new single "Jam (Turn it Up!)" made its debut on Ryan Seacrest's radio show Wednesday morning.

The American Idol host says he really liked the track -- though, as the producer of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney & Kim Take New York, it's likely he's more than slightly partial.

The dance track was produced by The-Dream, who told MTV that half of the money made by "Jam (Turn it Up!)" on iTunes will benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  The charity angle might blunt some of the criticism of Kardashian's actual singing, for which vocal tricks were used to assist.

Charity notwithstanding, the disses began coming nearly instantaneously, with BlackBookMag.com writing: "Even if the song sounded good (it doesn't), or was catchy (it's not), it would have been difficult to appreciate those things with lyrics this dumb."
