Heated Nicki-Mariah Argument on "American Idol" Set Caught on Tape

Brad Barket/PictureGroup(LOS ANGELES) -- Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have downplayed rumors that they haven't been getting along on the American Idol set.  But has posted video that strongly suggests the two aren't exactly the best of friends.

The video, shot during Idol auditions in Charlotte, N.C., on Tuesday, depicts an irate Minaj bickering with Carey.

Minaj is seen complaining, "I told them, I'm not f***in' putting up with her f***in' highness over there."

According to TMZ, there was another moment not captured on tape when Minaj threatened to "knock out" Carey.

The website is reporting that Minaj walked off the set because Carey "kept making jabs at her" and cursing at her.  Things got so out of hand that producers ended auditions for the day, according to

TMZ says the war of words stemmed from a disagreement over a contestant's performance.

Carey on Tuesday evening tweeted, "whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy," but it's unclear if she was referring to the incident.

Nicki Minaj: Romney Endorsement Was Sarcasm

Jason LaVeris//FimMagic(NEW YORK) -- Nicki Minaj may have mentioned GOP presidential challenger Mitt Romney in a verse, but she tweeted that President Barack Obama is the guy she'll tell her grandkids about.

President Obama told an Orlando hip-hop station Monday morning that he wasn't sure whether to believe Nicki was being serious when she rhymed, "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy b*****s is f*****g up the economy."  Obviously hip to Nicki's music, Obama noted that the YMCMB star "likes to play different characters, so I don’t know what’s going on there."

The president was referring to the fact that Minaj is known for adopting off-beat alter-egos as part of her act.  Among her alter-egos is the brash and British-sounding Roman Zolanski, who's popped up on several Minaj tracks.

And it turns out, the president had the right idea.  Nicki was certainly impressed, tweeting, "Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do... *sends love & support*"

In addition to giving Mr. Obama props, Nicki added, "Awesome! Now I can tell my grandchildren that the 1st black President of the United States took the time to address a Nicki Minaj question."

Many people wondered whether Nicki was endorsing Romney when she rapped about him on Lil Wayne's recently released Dedication 4 mixtape.  Whatever the case, Obama said when it comes to celebrities he tends to pay less attention to any ribbing they give him.  "The truth is when it comes to music and movies, et cetera, Michelle and I just focus on who’s good," Obama concluded. "Look, I love Clint Eastwood movies, man."

Nicki Minaj Raps for Romney?

Jason LaVeris//FimMagic(NEW YORK) -- Actor-director Clint Eastwood might have some celebrity company this week with his allegiance to Mitt Romney. Rapper Nicki Minaj appears to endorse Romney’s presidential bid in a new rap song out this week.

Minaj recorded the verse in a guest appearance on the track “Mercy” on fellow rapper Lil Wayne’s mixtape Dedication 4, which was released online Monday.

“I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy [expletive] is [expletive] up the economy,” Minaj says.

Born Onika Tanya Maraj in Trinidad and Tobago, the hip-hop star was raised in New York City and attended LaGuardia High School for music and the arts.

Her representatives did not respond to numerous ABC News requests for comment about what the lyrics mean or whether Minaj is registered to vote in the United States.

Rapper Talib Kweli chalked up Minaj’s latest political comments as a public relations stunt.

“I doubt Nicki seriously supports Romney,” he tweeted. “Her lyrics ain’t political. She just wants y’all to talk about her & she winning cuz it’s working.”

Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban Close to Deals with "American Idol": Report

Fox(NEW YORK) -- Rapper Nicki Minaj and country superstar Keith Urban may be nearing deals to take the vacant judges’ seats on American Idol, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

THR also said that Minaj and Urban have been in talks with the show for weeks, but Minaj’s involvement was a sticking point, since she has a lucrative endorsement deal with Pepsi, and Coke is a sponsor of American Idol.  But it appears those issues have been resolved, and that Minaj would earn $8 million for her participation on the show, in addition to an extra allowance for wardrobe, hair and makeup.

Urban, who’s married to Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, has reportedly agreed to become a judge for a salary of $3 to $4 million. Mariah Carey, the only officially-announced judge, is said to be getting in the neighborhood of $18 million.

It’s still unclear if original judge Randy Jackson will hang on or become a mentor.  According to THR, if the show’s producers can find another judge for the right price, he might be moved off the panel.

In a related story,  E! News said Miley Cyrus is no longer in consideration for a spot on the show — reportedly, discussions with the star never got very far and she never seriously contemplated taking the job.

Nicki Minaj Confesses to $50K a Month Accessories Habit

Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- It's safe to say that Nicki Minaj probably doesn't have any monetary concerns right now, thanks to the success of her album Pink Friday, not to mention her deal with OPI nail polish.  But is she spending her money wisely?  Well, she confesses to Vogue magazine, that at one time, she was spending $50,000 a month ... on accessories.

"Guiseppe, Versace, YSL and Fendi shoes," Nicki confesses. "And I bought tons of Vuitton bags. When you’re a young girl from Queens, you’re going to stock up on those bags.”   When it comes to clothes, though, Nicki isn't nearly so free with her cash.  "If I can combine designer things with other things, I’m a happy camper," she says.

Nicki says that unlike some stars, she doesn't plan to live high on the hog and not give anything back.  She tells Vogue that she has plans to start "an enormous foundation to nurture girls," adding, "They hang on my every word, so I tell them, go to school, be ambitious. The worst position is to be financially dependent on the man."  And even though Nicki tells Vogue that she sometimes imagines being a stay-at-home wife, cooking dinner for her husband in a "bikini and high heels," she says that in real life, "I could never be that girl!"
