(NEW YORK) -- Nicollette Sheridan probably won't return to Desperate Housewives for one last hurrah during its final season. Over the weekend, when ABC announced that Desperate Housewives will end after its upcoming eighth season, series creator Marc Cherry suggested that Sheridan could reprise her role of Edie Britt in the finale. Edie was killed off on the show in 2009.
Despite Cherry's comment, it appears Sheridan prefers not to resurrect her former character. When told on NBC's Today show Monday about Cherry's comments, Sheridan replied, "That's news to me." After she was asked if she'd consider returning to the show, Sheridan said, "I had an amazing time playing that character. I loved her dearly, but they killed her. She's dead."
It certainly would be surprising if Sheridan reappeared on Wisteria Lane, given the fact that she's suing Cherry for more than 20 million dollars, claiming wrongful termination.
