(LOS ANGELES) -- Patricia Arquette is closing her Facebook account, ending what she calls her "experiment." E! Online reports that in her final post on the social networking site, the former Medium actress wrote that she conducted an experiment to determine, "Could a celebrity actually friend strangers and get to know them as a person? Just a regular person? Could you really become friends? Could you move past all that they had in their mind about you and actually show them the real you?”
Arquette answered her own question, saying it is possible to befriend strangers, for the most part. However, she wrote, her security crew recently told her she had to end her experiment. She wrote in all caps, "I ASK YOU NOT TO FRIEND ANYONE HERE THAT YOU DON'T PERSONALLY KNOW!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE ON THIS PAGE DOESN'T REALLY MEAN THEY ARE SAFE!!!! I'M GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT_ IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE SAFE." She didn't specify what kind of apparent harassment she personally experienced on Facebook.
Arquette said she will continue to use Twitter.
