Nick Mason Hopes Pink Floyd Will Play Live Again

Neilson Barnard/Getty Images(LONDON) -- Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason hopes his former band will take the stage one more time.

Mason tells BBC 6 Music "it is very unlikely that we will go out on tour," but he added, "No one has said we will never work [together] again."

Mason wishes that Floyd "would absolutely do another Live 8" like they did back in 2005, when keyboardist Rick Wright was still alive.

Mason, Roger Waters and David Gilmour had planned on performing a charity gig at the end of last year but turned it down after deciding it wouldn't have been a good move for the group.

Photo Courtesy - Carl Court/AFP/Getty Images(LONDON) -- The son of Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour was arrested Sunday for his involvement in the violent student demonstrations that took place in London Thursday, according to The Guardian. 21-year-old Charlie Gilmour was reportedly seen Thursday swinging from a war memorial as part of the march protesting drastic increases in tuition fees.

"On the morning of Sunday 12 December, a 21-year-old man was arrested at his home address in Sussex," a spokesperson for the London Metropolitan police told reporters. "He was arrested by officers from Operation Malone on suspicion of disorder, and attempted criminal damage of the Union on the Cenotaph [War memorial] on 9 December. He was taken to a Sussex police station where he has been further arrested on suspicion of theft."

Police have used footage from CCTV security cameras to identify certain protesters who attacked police officers or damaged buildings. Gilmour is currently in custody.
