Producers Guild of America Announces Film Nominees for Awards Show

David Livingston/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- The film nominees for the upcoming Producers Guild of America Awards have been announced.

Ten movies will contend for the top prize.  In alphabetical order, they are: Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Moonrise Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook, Skyfall and Zero Dark Thirty.

The awards show website GoldDerby.com points out that the winner of this category has gone on to claim the best-picture Oscar in 16 of the last 23 years.

The animated movie category contains five nominees: Brave, Frankenweenie, ParaNorman, Rise of the Guardians and Wreck-It Ralph.

The nominees in the TV categories were announced in late November.

The 24th Annual Producers Guild Awards will be held in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Jan. 26.

Producers Guild Awards TV Nominees Announced

Hemera/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- The nominees in the television categories for the 2013 Producers Guild Awards were announced on Wednesday.

The usual suspects received nods in the top drama and comedy categories.  The drama field includes AMC's Mad Men and Breaking Bad, PBS' Downton Abbey, HBO's Game of Thrones and the Emmy-winning Showtime series Homeland.

The comedy field consists of ABC's Emmy-winning show Modern Family, NBC's 30 Rock, CBS' The Big Bang Theory, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm and FX's Louie.

The nominees in the movie categories will be revealed on Jan. 3. The 24th Annual Producers Guild Awards will be held in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Jan. 26.

Producers Guild Announces 2011 Award Nominees

David Livingston/WireImage(BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.) -- In fewer than three weeks, ten films will contend for the top prize at the Producers Guild of America Awards. Nominees were announced Tuesday.

The films nominated for the top motion picture prize are The Artist, Bridesmaids, The Descendants, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Help, Hugo, The Ides Of March, Midnight In Paris, Moneyball and War Horse.

The PGA also announced five nominees for its animated motion picture category: The Adventures Of Tintin, Cars 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Puss In Boots and Rango.

The PGA previously announced nominees in the major TV categories, including top TV comedy series and top TV drama series.

Steven Spielberg, who directed The Adventures of Tintin and War Horse, will receive a special achievement honor at the PGA Awards, which will be held in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Jan. 21.
