Teen Who Asked Kate Upton to Prom Takes Another Sports Illustrated Model

@NinaAgdal/Twitter(LOS ANGELES) -- The supermodel who accompanied Jake Davidson to his prom may not have been Kate Upton, but the Los Angeles high school senior didn’t seem to mind one bit.

Davidson, who was turned down by Upton after his YouTube “prom-posal” went viral, managed to land a first-class backup date when Nina Agdal, the model Sports Illustrated named Rookie of the Year, agreed to attend his prom with him.

If their Instagram pictures and tweets are any indication, the 21-year-old Danish model and Davidson had a smashing time together Thursday night at the prom.

Agdal wore a floor-length green halter gown with her hair swept into a pony tail, while Davidson looked dapper in a tuxedo, as they posed together for photographs outside of his home.

Davidson had asked Upton to be his date in a March 16 video that went viral, garnering more than 2.5 million views.  In the clip, Davidson  is seen lounging on a reclining patio chair, lathering up before a shave, practicing  push-ups and shampooing in the shower.

“You’re on the cover of Sports Illustrated. I read Sports Illustrated. …  Kate, great moments are born from great opportunity. And that’s what you have here today. A chance to make a nice guy’s senior year the best ever,” he says in the video.

The high school senior’s plea, showing  no small amount of chutzpah when he coyly asked   if he could call Upton Katie, made it to the 20-year-old  cover model, who  soon tweeted back to Davidson.

“You can call me Katie if you want! How could I turn down that video!  I’ll check my schedule (wink),” she wrote.

Alas, when Upton finally did check her schedule, the “maybe” turned into a definitive “no,” but after Thursday night’s prom, it’s safe to say Davidson still had the best night ever.

“Had such a great prom night. Thank you @jakedavidson23 for being an awesome date! ” Agdal tweeted when the night was over.

“You are the best! thanks so much for everything,” Davidson replied, but the supermodel had the final word.

“You are!” she tweeted. “Thank you babe.”

Dwayne Wade Attends High School Senior Prom

Ingram Publishing/Thinkstock(MIAMI) -- A Florida high school senior got a huge surprise Friday night when basketball star Dwayne Wade surprised her at her senior prom.

Nicole Muxo, a senior at Archbishop Colman Carroll High in Miami, posted a YouTube video in April inviting the Miami Heat basketball star to her prom, even sending him a Tweet with the address of the prom in Coral Gables.

Wade decided to show up, calling her at the start of the prom to wish her well - without telling her he was actually there. He said it was fun to suddenly appear, upstaging her actual date.

“To be talking to her on the phone and then um to be able to walk in and see her reaction was awesome,” he recounted later.

Wade had a dance with Muxo, mingled with her family and posed for lots of photos.

“This was definitely the highlight of my senior year,” Muxo said.

Kate Upton Considers Teen's Prom Invite

Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Jake Davidson is one brave 17-year-old.

The high school senior from Los Angeles asked Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton to be his prom date via a YouTube video. In the clip, titled “Kate Upton, Will You Go to Prom with Me?” Jake explains why Upton should be his date.

“Kate, can I call you Katie? OK, Kate works,” Jake says in the video, while taking a shower.

“Kate, great moments are born from great opportunity and that is what you have here today, a chance to make a nice guy’s senior year the best ever,” he continues, while tying his tie.

He goes on to explain that he can’t dance and he’s shorter than her, but they do have things in common, including Sports Illustrated. Upton poses in it wearing swimsuits and Jake reads it.

And Jake might just get his perfect prom. The model tweeted back to him Tuesday, saying, “You can call me Katie if you want! How could I turn down that video! I’ll check my schedule ;)”

Jake was then surprised on NBC’s Today show this morning by a phone call from Upton.

“This just got so much better now that you’re on the phone,” he said before pitching his prom night to her. “I’m telling you it will be a great night, great evening. I could even get the curfew extended hopefully by my parents, maybe. I hope you’d be interested if your schedule is free, and what time should I pick you up if you are interested?”

Upton, 20, told the teen he seems like a lot of fun but she has to check her schedule.

If the date goes through, Jake might just have to work on changing his 11 p.m. curfew.

"Glee" Goes to Prom With One Direction, Ke$ha, Fergie & More

Mike Yarish/FOX(NEW YORK) -- Back in 1986, all the kids at prom were slow dancing to "Take My Breath Away," a love ballad by the group Berlin that was featured in the Tom Cruise flick Top Gun.  Well, some things never change, because on Tuesday's episode of Glee, it's prom night, and you'll see everyone dancing to "Take My Breath Away," as performed by Santana and Quinn.

But the episode, called "Prom-asauraus," features plenty of current songs as well.  Just as Glee covered The Wanted's "Glad You Came" a couple months ago, they're now taking on the hit song by that other British boy band.  That's right, New Directions is covering One Direction, as Mike, Rory, Sam, Joe and Artie sing "What Makes You Beautiful."

Other songs featured include Fergie's ballad "Big Girls Don't Cry," sung by Rachel and -- oddly -- Kurt and Blaine, as well as the Ke$ha song "Dinosaur," sung by Brittany to reflect the fact that, as class president, she wants a dinosaur theme for the prom.  Selena Gomez's "Love You Like a Love Song," sung by Santana and the Trouble Tones, completes the soundtrack for the episode.

In the episode, the kids campaign to be prom king and queen, while some of the outcasts organize a rival event.  It airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Fox.

Tim Tebow Escorts Girl to the Prom...Sort Of

Comstock/Thinkstock(DES MOINES) -- He's one of the most famous faces in sports right now, so what was Tim Tebow doing on the arm of a girl at a prom in Iowa? Just standing there, looking pretty flat, actually -- but that's because high schooler Rachel Bird took a cardboard standee of the quarterback with her to the event Saturday.

Bird's original plan was to reach out to the sports star via Twitter, but when Tebow didn't respond, Bird moved to Plan B.

The Des Moines Register reports her parents weren't on board with her daughter dating a fake football player, but in the end, they were okay with it.

"We wanted her to have fun with her friends and have a nice memory -- and it's definitely something people will remember for years," her mom Carol said of her daughter, who even posed for pics of her date. "She's not usually outgoing like this. She really came out of her shell for this one."

Movie Review: 'Prom'

AbleStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- Question: Name the world in which high school students don’t curse, don’t drink, don’t smoke, engage in sexual activity or have acne.
Answer: Disney World!
Aimee Teegarden’s Nova is the class valedictorian and prom committee chairperson and she’s going to make sure her high school has the best, most original prom ever, gosh-darnit! When all of the prom decorations are destroyed in a fire, Nova has just three weeks to construct new ones, but the members of her committee are too busy to help.
Enter Jesse, the motorcycle-riding, misunderstood high school bad boy whose punishment for his rebellious behavior is to help Nova prepare for the prom.
While many high school comedies are explicit in depicting teen life, Disney’s Prom strives to superficially depict teen life, but thanks to several strong and realistic performances from a few promising young actors -- Teegarden, Thomas McDonell, Danielle Campbell, Nolan Sotillo, Cameron Monaghan and Nicholas Braun -- Prom isn’t a complete wash.

Two out of five stars.
