Lady Gaga's Ex-Producer/Boyfriend Sued by Woman

Forbes.com reports that Wendy Starland filed suit against Fusari last Friday in Federal Court in Newark, New Jersey.  She claims that back in 2005, Fusari told her that if she could help him find "a unique female singer under the age of 25 who could be the equivalent of the lead singer of the band The Strokes," they would work together to make that singer a star, and share in the profits. Starland claims that eight months later she discovered Lady Gaga at a club in New York City, introduced her to Fusari and collaborated on her development as an artist.  But then in 2006, when Fusari signed an actual contract with Gaga, Starland says she was cut out of the picture.

Starland further claims that when Gaga got a major-label record deal, she asked Fusari if he planned to share any of the money he got with her.  She says he agreed to, but never did.  Starland is now suing him and his company for breach of contract, unjust enrichment and breach of fiduciary duty, among other things.
