MTV Releases Trailer for 'Jersey Shore' Season in Italy

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- MTV has released a full trailer for the fourth season of Jersey Shore, for which Snooki, The Situation, JWoww and the rest of the gang traveled to Italy.

The bleep-filled coming attraction gives some context to some of the season's more explosive moments that have already made headlines stateside, including The Situation's throw-down with Ronnie -- which apparently ended with Sitch dazed and carried away in a stretcher -- and Snooki's now infamous crash into a cop car, which left policemen injured and the reality show star detained by cops.

Season four of Jersey Shore premieres Thursday, Aug. 4 at 10 p.m. ET.

'Jersey Shore's' Ronnie Ortiz Avoids Assault Conviction

Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images(TOMS RIVER, N.J.) -- Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was admitted into a pretrial intervention program on Monday that will allow him to avoid a criminal conviction for an assault that was broadcast on the first season of the MTV reality series Jersey Shore.

Ortiz, who is from the Bronx, New York, appeared Monday in New Jersey Superior Court in Toms River.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie M. Wauters told Ortiz that he would be in the pretrial intervention program for 18 months.  In the program, criminal defendants neither admit nor deny guilt, but they can have the charges against them dropped if they remain out of trouble for a specified period of time.

Ortiz also agreed to do community service.  If he completes the program successfully the charges will be dropped.

Ortiz was charged after a fight outside a Seaside Heights nightclub with Stephen Izzo in September of 2009.  In the Jersey Shore episode titled "One Shot," the 25-year-old is shown knocking Izzo out with one punch.

Izzo still has a civil suit pending against Ortiz.

'Jersey Shore' War! Did Ronnie Beat Up Sitch?

Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- It appears Jersey Shore stars Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro came to blows while shooting the reality series in Italy, according to pictures posted on TMZ's website.

The tension that simmered between the pair last season apparently boiled over Monday night, as according to TMZ, they returned to their Italian digs separately, each bearing evidence they'd gone toe-to-toe.

The Situation apparently got the worst of his exchange with the muscle-bound, notoriously hot-headed Ronnie: Sitch was snapped wearing a hoodie that only partially hid pronounced red splotches on his face, and a cut near his left eye. For his part, Ronnie only sported fresh cuts on his knuckles.

From Jersey Shore to State Pen?

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(TOMS RIVER, N.J.) -- Jersey Shore's Ronald Ortiz was indicted on assault charges on Thursday.  The indictment, stemming from an incident shown on the television show, was unveiled Friday.

The indictment alleges Ortiz, known as "Ronnie" on the MTV show, knowingly caused harm to Steven Izzo by hitting him with a closed fist.  Izzo, of Berkeley, N.J., was knocked out with the one punch and it was shown in an episode of the show entitled "One Shot."  If convicted, Ortiz could spend up to five years in state prison.

Izzo is suing MTV, show producers and Ortiz in a civil case.

The punch was apparently sparked by another cast member, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, kissing a man in a group at a nightclub back in September 2009.  Izzo was with that group, that also included the man's girlfriend.  There was a heated exchange which prompted Izzo and Ortiz to head outside, where prosecutors say Ortiz dropped the 26-year-old Izzo with the punch.

Ortiz is free on bail.
