President Roseanne Barr? Comic Announces White House Run

Paul Drinkwater/NBC(LOS ANGELES) -- Roseanne Barr, during an appearance Thursday night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to plug her new Lifetime reality series, the comic announced she’s running for president.

Barr proclaimed, “I am running for president of the United States.”  Barr told Leno she was “totally serious” and wants to participate in the debates, adding “I want to represent the taxpayer.  In fact, I’m choosing the taxpayers as my vice president.”

When Leno asked Barr if she was running as a Democrat or Republican, the former self-titled sitcom stars replied, “I’m not for either party because they both suck and they’re both a bunch of criminals. So I made up my own party. It’s the Green Tea Party.”

Entertainment Weekly reports the first episode of Roseanne’s Nuts, which follows Barr as she runs a Hawaiian nut farm, attracted an impressive 1.6 million viewers a few weeks ago, but the audience for the latest installment dropped to 785,000.

Roseanne Barr Sues Ex in Child Visitation Flap

Photo Courtesy - ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Roseanne Barr has returned the favor -- she's just sued her ex-husband and bodyguard, Ben Thomas.

Thomas filed suit against Barr in October for reneging on a divorce agreement with the comedienne that snagged him and his new wife nearly unlimited trips to Hawaii. E! reports the deal was part of a custody arrangement for Thomas to see Buck, his teenage son with Barr, that granted him up to 10 days per month in Hawaii, where Barr and Buck live. However, Thomas sued when Barr allegedly pulled out of the deal in an e-mail, declaring "I'm no longer interested in abiding by this ridiculous arrangement."

Thomas not only filed suit after that, but released details of his suit and divorce arrangements to the press -- including Barr's e-mail address, according to E! -- which led Barr to countersue, claiming her ex violated confidentiality clauses in their divorce paperwork.
