Katy Perry Suing Magazine over Infidelity Report

Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage(SYDNEY) -- Ever since Katy Perry and Russell Brand became a couple, the world's press has had a field day reporting various things about them, some of which aren't true.

The Australian paper The Herald Sun reports that Perry has filed a suit against the publishers of the Aussie magazine NW, which printed a story suggesting that she'd had an affair with record producer Benny Blanco.

According to the paper, the suit says that the article was prominently featured on the magazine's front cover with the headline: "World Exclusive: Katy's Other Man -- Split Fears After Shock Revelation."  The suit claims that the article said that Perry hid her affair with Blanco from Brand, and it also quoted a "friend" of hers named Angela Summers and an "insider" named Marlon David.

In her suit, Perry says she doesn't know either of those two people, and that the magazine refuses to print an apology for the story, even though it was clearly inaccurate.

The Herald Sun reports that the suit claims Perry "has been gravely injured in her reputation and feelings [and] has suffered distress, embarrassment and humiliation" as a result of the magazine's article.  She not only wants damages, reports the paper, but "aggravated damages," meaning if she wins, the magazine will have to shell out at least six figures.

Movie Review: 'Arthur'

Warner Bros. Pictures(NEW YORK) -- When we first meet Russell Brand's Arthur, he’s drunk and preparing to embarrass his mother by appearing at an important investor's dinner dressed in a Batman outfit, via the Batmobile -- a recent purchase.  It's all downhill from there.

Brand, perhaps one of the world's most intelligent and articulate comedians, is never believable as an alcohol-dependent playboy manchild.  He is also underserved by an uninspired script that relies too heavily on the cast -- and only Helen Mirren, as Hobson, the role originally played by Sir John Gielgud, rises to the occasion.

While there are a few funny moments, they are moments that would've been funny in any film and have absolutely nothing to do with the story. Two out of five stars.

Katy Perry Changing Last Name to Brand; Makes Chart History

Photo Courtesy - Capitol Records(BURBANK, Calif.) -- Before Katy Perry became famous, she went by the name Katy Hudson.  But she's about to change her name again -- to Katy Brand.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, Perry told DeGeneres now that she's married to comedian and actor Russell Brand, she'll answer to "Mrs. Brand" if someone calls her that, and revealed that she's "in the process" of changing her name legally to Katy Brand.  It's not known if she'll use that name professionally, though.

Meanwhile, Perry has made chart history with her latest single, "Firework."  It's reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first female artist in 11 years to score three Hot 100 number one hits from a single album.

Perry's Grammy-nominated disc Teenage Dream first produced the number one hit "California Gurls," followed by "Teenage Dream" and now, "Firework."  The last female artist to accomplish that was Monica, with her album The Boy Is Mine.

Details Emerge on Katy Perry's Indian Wedding

Photo Courtesy - Mark Ralston/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Katy Perry and her fiance, British comedian Russell Brand, are enjoying a week-long stay at the Taj Rambagh Palace in India in advance of their wedding, reportedly set for Saturday.  Now, some of the details are emerging about the lengths to which the couple is going to make sure their event is safe and paparazzi-free.

"They made guests [who are] not part of the wedding party, hotel staff included, vacate the premises," a source tells E!  "The local authorities announced that no camera person can come within one kilometer of the Taj."

"The overseas security is fiercely guarding the fort and is showing no mercy to anyone," the source continues, "and the police are supporting them completely.  Everyone, regardless of their status, is checked for any type of camera, hidden or visible, and if they are not among the invited guests, it is confiscated.  Any overseas persons trying hard to get a glimpse of the event are being kept strictly at bay."

Despite the security, some scant details have emerged, notably about Perry's dress. "It's long and white, very traditional in that sense," a source close to famed wedding planner Mindy Weiss tells E!.  "Beading galore...and there's a really interesting headpiece.  I don't think most brides could pull it off, but most brides aren't Katy Perry."
