Fourth of July Music on TV: Mariah Carey and Much More

Comstock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- If you're planning to avoid sunburn and mosquito bites and spend your Fourth of July inside this year, TV will provide you with a great soundtrack to your celebrations. Here's a rundown of who will be performing on what channel this Independence Day:

Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, Taylor Swift and ageless icon Cher will all perform on the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, airing on NBC from 8 to 10 p.m. ET, with an encore one-hour fireworks special airing at 10 p.m. Usher is curating the overall design of the show, whose theme is "It Begins with a Spark." It's not clear if he'll be performing as well.

John Mayer and Demi Lovato will be performing on the third annual Philly 4th of July Jam, which airs on VH1 and Palladia on Thursday from 8 to 11 p.m. ET. It's the perfect place for Demi to bust out her new single, "Made in the U.S.A.," and for John to give fans a preview of his summer tour, which kicks off a few days later. Kevin Hart hosts the event, The Roots will be the musical curators, and other performers include Grace Potter, Jill Scott and J. Cole. Viewers will also see a fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Over on PBS, the annual special A Capitol Fourth will feature American Idol season 12 winner Candice Glover, ex-Idol champ Scotty McCreery, Glee star Darren Criss, young classical singer Jackie Evancho, Smash star Megan Hilty, the cast of Motown: The Musical, and legendary crooners Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond. Tom Bergeron hosts the festivities, which air live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. at 8 p.m. ET. Fireworks are included, and so is live cannon fire, provided by the U.S. Army Presidential Salute Battery.

Bergeron says the show is a sight to behold in person: "It's louder. Much louder. But it's amazing. It really is. It's a big finish to a big party."

Most unusually, MTV and VH1 have announced that on the Fourth of July, they plan to "let music ring" by -- gasp -- bringing back music videos.  From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET/PT, both networks, as well as CMT, will provide "the ultimate party playlist" by spinning music videos in a variety of musical genres.

Is Selena Gomez Mocking Justin Bieber with "Everybody Knows" Video?

Isaac Brekken/Getty Images via ABC(NEW YORK) -- It may or may not be a message to her former boyfriend Justin Bieber, but Selena Gomez has appeared in a video in which she dances to a song called “Everybody Knows (Douchebag).”

In the YouTube clip, Gomez is seen with four other young female dancers, moving along to the Dustin Tavella song, which features the lyrics, "Your boyfriend is a douchebag/ And everybody knows."

Dressed in a gray hoodie, burgundy pants and black boots, the singer could be mocking Bieber, following their split in January.

The description for the video reads, "Me and my girls just doin what we do...dancin! haha...All fun!"

Does Selena Gomez Have a New Man?

Isaac Brekken/Getty Images via ABC(LOS ANGELES) -- Selena Gomez sent the rumor mill into a frenzy when she stepped out with a mystery man after the Grammys Sunday night.

The “Hit the Lights” singer and the man were snapped walking arm-in-arm at the Warner Music Group/InStyle Grammy after-party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, Calif. The man in question is director/editor Alfredo Flores, an old friend of Gomez’s, E! News reported. The two were photographed on the beach in Malibu last July at Ashley Tisdale’s birthday party.

Flores is also reportedly friends with Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber.

Gomez and Bieber split in November after more than a year together. The Biebs released a ballad last month about their breakup.

“At the end of the day, there’s nothing like us, you know? That’s just it. It is what it is. People are going to relate to that,” Bieber told when talking about the song “Nothing Like Us.”

When asked if he’s heartbroken, Bieber told the magazine, “I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been. I’m trying to get through what I’m going through …  [but] I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.”

In Preview of Oprah Interview, Justin Bieber Talks About Dating Selena Gomez

Kevin Mazur/WireImage via ABC(NEW YORK) -- In his upcoming appearance on Oprah's Next Chapter, Justin Bieber tells Oprah Winfrey about his high-profile romance with girlfriend Selena Gomez, his music and his life in the spotlight.  In a preview of the interview shown Thursday on ABC's Good Morning America,  Justin says he does what's needed to have a relationship with Selena, even when the logistics of dating get tricky.

"Sometimes we gotta take the back exits and do different things," explains Justin in the preview.  Regardless of the efforts required, says Justin, "I never make [Selena] separate from me 'cause... I don't want her to ever feel like I'm ashamed of her."

Justin explains that comment by saying, "I feel like a lot of guys do that, you know, especially in the business.  [They] don't want to be seen with their girl so they'll make them ride in separate cars and do all that 'getaway' stuff.   If we get away, we're, you know, getting away together."

While Oprah's done a slew of interviews, she says chatting with The Bieb was beyond major.  "It's the biggest thing I've done since Michael Jackson in 1993," Oprah told the hosts of Good Morning America on Thursday.

As previously reported, the interview for Oprah's Next Chapter will air in more than 100 countries worldwide on Nov. 25 on OWN.
