(LOS ANGELES) -- An upcoming Bravo series that's being compared to Jersey Shore is the subject of a lawsuit brought by a woman who claims she was bullied during a party taped for the show. Kathy Salem is suing the cable network and producer Ryan Seacrest over Shahs of Sunset, which will star young and well-to-do Persians in Los Angeles.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Salem says she signed a cover sheet of a waiver for the party, held last July, knowing that it would be taped but not realizing that "she might be blindsided and forced against her will to play a demeaning and humiliating role." She alleges that two cast members were verbally abusive to her, and that someone tried to strip off her top. She further alleges that a cast member named Reza tossed water in her face.
Salem seeks at least $100,000 in damages, plus an injunction preventing the show from airing footage of her. Shahs of Sunset is scheduled to premiere on Bravo in February.
