New TV Drama "Red Widow" Premieres Sunday Night

ABC/BOB D'AMICO(NEW YORK) -- The new ABC drama Red Widow premieres Sunday night with a two-hour episode.

Silent Hill actress Radha Mitchell plays a California woman, Marta, who has a complicated family life. Her father is a Russian gangster in San Francisco, and her husband, Evan, exports marijuana.

Marta's world is turned upside down when Evan is murdered. She soon finds out that Evan's business partners were involved in the theft of cocaine from a crime boss, who believes Marta needs to pay for her husband's connection to the scheme.

Meanwhile, the FBI seeks Marta's cooperation during its investigation of Evan's murder.

The series premiere of Red Widow airs at 9 p.m. Eastern time. The show will move to its normal 10 p.m. time slot the following week.

"Cloud Atlas," Three Other Movies Open Nationwide

-- Cloud Atlas: The drama, adapted from the novel of the same name, connects various stories to explore how an act of kindness can have an impact over the course of centuries.  The cast members -- which include Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving and Jim Sturgess -- play multiple roles.  The film was co-directed by the Wachowski siblings and Tom Tykwer.  Rated R.  [Click here to read a review]

-- Silent Hill: Revelation 3D: A teenage girl haunted by the disappearance of her father faces danger in a demonic world.  Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, Carrie-Ann Moss and Malcolm McDowell star.  Rated R.

-- Fun Size: Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice plays a high school senior who loses the little brother she was asked to babysit on Halloween night.  Chelsea Handler also stars in this comedy.  Rated PG-13.

-- Chasing Mavericks: Gerard Butler plays a surfer who takes a 15-year-old under his wing as they attempt to ride one of the biggest waves in the world, in Northern California.  John Weston, Elisabeth Shue and Abigail Spencer also star.  Rated PG.  [Click here to read a review]
