Simon Cowell: I'm Dating Carmen Electra

ABC/RON TOM(LOS ANGELES) -- After months of speculation, X Factor's Simon Cowell confirmed that he's dating Carmen Electra.

"She's not my girlfriend," the 53-year-old Brit said, according to US Weekly.  "We're people who date."

The two first sparked dating rumors when they were seen dining together at a West Hollywood restaurant in September.  Still, at the time, a source told E! News that the two were "just friends."

Electra started dating Cowell after her split with fiancé Rob Patterson.  Cowell also recently broke off his engagement to make up artist Mezhgan Hussainy.

Source Says Simon Cowell and Carmen Electra Are "Just Friends"

ABC/ RON TOM(NEW YORK) -- Simon Cowell and Carmen Electra have sparked dating rumors, according to E!. The pair was spotted dining together at a West Hollywood restaurant over the weekend, but it looks like the liaison may not have been a romantic one.

A source tells E!, “A big group of friends had dinner on Saturday night at Cecconi’s.” The insider says Simon and Carmen "are just friends from the U.K. and the U.S. They have known each other a while and she guest judged on Britain’s Got Talent.”

Cowell and Electra were pictured leaving the restaurant together in a black Rolls-Royce, after posing for pictures. A representative for the restaurant and Carmen Electra both turned down requests by E! for comment.

Simon Cowell Says Britney's 'Sweet,' "X Factor" Will Have Two Hosts

D Dipasupil/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- On Wednesday's installment of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Simon Cowell and his new fellow X Factor judge Britney Spears dished about their experiences so far on the show.  Cowell also dished that Khloe Kardashian is still in the mix as a possible host of the show -- and she might have a co-host.

In the sweeping interview, Cowell and Spears talked about what they thought of each other before they "met" on the phone, with both admitting to be surprised.

Spears said of Cowell, "I thought he was kinda rude," from his onscreen persona.  "But I talked to him on the phone and he was a total sweetheart."

Cowell then joked he was surprised, too, saying, "She was sweet and humble, and...her reputation was completely different."

As for Kardashian, Cowell said rumors she's in the running to host The X Factor were accurate.

"She's in the loop," he admitted, saying her inexperience is exciting.  "That's why I like doing live TV, because I like that the idea that things can go wrong."

On the topic of hosts, Cowell revealed that two are planned, telling Kimmel, "Well, we'll have two."

When Kimmel responded, "Oh, you will have two?," Cowell replied, "Oh, for sure."

When Kimmel switched the discussion to Cowell's private life and asked about a claim in a book that he uses black toilet paper in his house, the X Factor judge surprisingly confirmed he did.  Cowell said an interior designer who worked for him ordered the black TP and he keeps it in a downstairs bathroom.

Cowell and Spears also participated in a "game show" bit in which Kimmel questioned them about how well they know each other.  The most shocking moment came when they were both asked to identify a part of the other person's body that they find the sexiest.  With their answers written on large cards, Spears said Cowell's chest hair, while he cited the singer's t**s.

Simon Cowell Rushes to Help Boaters in Distress

ABC/ RON TOM(ST. TROPEZ, France) -- X Factor judge and entertainment mogul Simon Cowell reportedly helped rescue nine people who were on a yacht that was taking on water off St. Tropez, a tony vacation spot in the south of France.

Cowell, 52, was relaxing in the area on his yacht, accompanied by his ex-girlfriend, the singer Sinitta, when he heard the distress call, the London Evening Standard reported.

Sinitta tweeted the Aug. 29 encounter: “OMG!! Just had a May Day message, 35 ft boat sinking.. SC has sent us to help and rescue 9 people on board! Slipstream look alike boat,” she wrote, adding a short while later, “Everyone ok, noone hurt.captain won’t let boat sink, petrol in sea etc would cause major problems and fines. No tide, so hole plugged.”

Cowell, a former judge on American Idol, is not the only A-lister to spring into action to help someone else. Heartthrob actor Ryan Gosling made headlines in April when he stopped an inattentive pedestrian from walking into traffic in Manhattan.

And Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence went to the aid of a woman who was passed out near the star’s Santa Monica, Calif., apartment in June.

Report: Simon Cowell Told Britney to Clean Up Her Act for "The X Factor"

Nino Munoz / FOX(LOS ANGELES) -- While a former bodyguard once accused Britney Spears of being at times less than glamorous around the house, promos for The X Factor prove she's back in fine form -- and the New York Post reports her boss, Simon Cowell, had much to do with it.

The paper says Cowell wanted to make sure Britney looked her best on the air, after she once showed up to work apparently not wearing a bra. "It was made clear she is expected to be impeccably dressed and made-up for the show. And none of those ragged hair extensions," a source says.

Reps for the show deny Cowell forced Spears to get a new stylist but sources say following the pep talk, "she's since turned up looking amazing."

The re-tooled season two of The X Factor, with Britney and Demi Lovato as the series' new judges, kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. Eastern time on Fox.

"American Idol" Singer Loses 100 Pounds After Simon Cowell's Remark

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- When Mandisa Hundley auditioned for American Idol in 2006 she thought it would be her chance to make it big in music.

Instead, the opportunity turned into heartbreak, thanks to a comment from then-judge Simon Cowell.

As Hundley, 35, stood before the judges, Cowell, known for his often brutal appraisals of contestants, commented not on Hundley’s soulful sound, but her size.

“Do we have a bigger stage this year?” he said.

“It was just hurtful and mean and the one thing I didn’t want to have happen,” Hundley said.

The gospel singer, who told Cowell on that show that she forgave him, also took Cowell’s words to heart and changed her life.

She set a goal to lose 100 pounds and started by changing her diet.

She also found a love for the dance-inspired exercise craze, Zumba, and hired a personal trainer.

Hundley says her fans and her religion kept her on track. However, she does admit that she struggled to keep up her motivation at times.

“There was a time when I didn’t feel like getting up and going to Zumba one day. I had done everything right. I got on the scale and I had gained 1.8 pounds, so I tweeted that I was through with it. And when I woke up from my nap I had tons of messages saying, ‘Don’t give up.’ And more than that, they said, ‘I appreciate knowing that you’re real and that you go through difficult times,’” Hudley said this morning on Good Morning America.

Today, six years later, Hundley is 100 pounds thinner and back in the spotlight.

Hundley has a new EP, appropriately titled “Get Movin’,” out and her first CD, True Beauty, scheduled to hit stores in a few weeks.

When asked what she would say to Cowell now if given the opportunity, she humbly replied, “Well, the same thing that I said to him back in my season. I forgave him for what he said to me, because I’ve been forgiven for so much. I can extend that same grace to him. But then I would follow it up and say, ‘How ya like me now?’”

Simon Cowell Says Mariah Carey May Be Too Nice on "Idol"

ABC/RON TOM(BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.) -- At the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., Monday, former American Idol judge Simon Cowell had a few words to say about the show's newest judge, Mariah Carey.

"I'm happy for her, actually, I like Mariah," Cowell said, before adding, "I think she's going to find it difficult to say no.  You know, she's sweet."  Cowell did allow, however, "I think she'll be great."

On the other hand, Cowell -- who was touting his retooled new show The X Factor with new judges Demi Lovato and Britney Spears -- said Spears is anything but sweet.

"Britney's quite mean, as you'll discover," Cowell said to laughs.

Lovato took issue, saying, "I'd say she's tough...She's a sweetheart."

Cowell -- who brought along footage of Spears putting poor acts in their place -- said, "Sweet: like a lemon."

For her part, Spears says the decision to go to X Factor was a chance to do something, "really different from anything I'd ever done," as well as a way to, "give back and help people achieve their dreams."

Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus in the Mix to Judge "X Factor?"

Fox(LOS ANGELES) -- Though it hasn’t been confirmed, it looks likely that Britney Spears will be joining the X Factor judging panel, but there’s still one spot up for grabs. Now, reports claim that it could be filled by Demi Lovato or Miley Cyrus.

The Hollywood Reporter said Lovato is in “final negotiations” to fill the vacant judges’ slot on the Fox singing competition, which currently features Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and -- possibly -- Spears. The trade publication said the show wanted to hire a brunette. Meanwhile, a source told that “there have been talks with Miley” about joining the show. Others on the shortlist reportedly include “Black Eyed Peas” front woman Fergie and Avril Lavigne.

As for Spears, a source told Celebuzz, “Britney’s deal is not done, it’s close, but we are not that far ahead to be making a formal announcement.” It’s rumored that Spears will cash a $15 million paycheck for her trouble.

Report: Britney Spears Signing $15 Million 'X Factor' Deal

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- According to TMZ, Britney Spears has struck a deal with the producers of The X Factor that will pay the singer 15 million dollars to join the show as a judge next season.

The gossip site says "the fine points" of the deal are still being worked out, but the broad strokes are done. If the contracts are finalized, they will then have to be approved by Britney's father Jamie, who is her conservator, and lawyers for the conservatorship.  At that point, the judge overseeing the conservatorship will have to approve.

Sources tell the website it's a "virtual certainty" that all involved will sign off on the deal.

Show creator and executive producer Simon Cowell told TMZ on Tuesday he'd be thrilled if Britney came aboard, saying, "I would love to have her on the show. I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to."  Cowell said the show may make an announcement within the week.

Britney will fill one of two vacant seats formally occupied by Nicole Scherzinger, who reportedly earned $1.5 million as an X Factor judge, and Paula Abdul, who reportedly earned $2.5 million.

Book Claims Simon Cowell Was Once Robbed by One-Night Stand

ABC/RON TOM(NEW YORK) -- Simon Cowell might be a great judge of musical talent, but if a story in the new book Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell is to be believed, he's not a great judge of character.

The U.K. Sun, quoting from the upcoming juicy book, reports that The X Factor creator and former American Idol judge got robbed by a hotel hookup after a "drunken one-night stand."

Cowell reportedly "smuggled" a girl he met at a nightclub back to his hotel, but by the next morning, he awoke to find his gal pal gone -- along with his money and laptop "full of show secrets."

According to the book's author, Tom Bower, Simon's people worked with hotel security and the police, and eventually caught the sticky-fingered suspect.
