Alanis Morissette’s Post-Partum Blues

Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- She’s lyrically fearless, recognized for her unique vocals and iconic break-up songs.  With seven albums and seven Grammy awards, Alanis Morissette is an alternative rock idol.

But now, 38-year-old Morissette is talking about life with her 20-month-old son, Ever, attachment parenting, and struggling with post-partum depression.

Ever became the center of national attention when Morissette came forward with her views on attachment parenting, saying she’ll breastfeed until he decides it’s time to stop.

“I’m always available if he needs me, period. I love snuggling and sleeping next to him,” Morissette told ABC News.  Morissette said she plans on feeding her son the natural way until he “is finished and weaned.”

“I think it affords the child, when he grows up, to have a lot less therapy to go to,” the “Jagged Little Pill” singer, said in May on “The Billy Bush Show.”

“For me, I protect his safety and his well-being and his attachment,” said Morissette, who is married to rapper Mario “Souleye” Treadway. “That stage of development is a very important stage.”

The songstress recently said she suffered “baby blues,” an intense struggle with post-partum depression. When Lara Spencer asked Morissette Tuesday morning why she felt the need to share about this, she replied:

“I didn’t feel the need to share. It just was part of the autobiographical transparency value that I have. I really think transparency really levels the playing field for all of us and renders our humanness OK,” Morissette said. “It was just a really intense time and if I could share anything with anyone who’s going through it, it would be to encourage them to seek help and reach out a little earlier than I did.”

“I think the feminist movement went through being very dependent, being autonomous, being individualistic and being empowered on our own, burning your bras and such. And then now, in 2012, there’s this gorgeous inner-dependence and saying ‘I’m really empowered and I need you and I need help.’ It’s really great,” Morissette added.

But Tuesday she celebrates the release of her first album in four years, Havoc and Bright Lights, where Morissette focuses on singing about life as wife, mother and an alpha-woman.

“There’s this intimacy that comes from commitment and there’s this healing that is to be gotten from that. So with my son and my husband and my marriage, there’s a lot of healing that’s going on. Where songwriting is really cathartic and it moves all this energy, it didn’t necessarily heal anything.”

Mindy McCready Ready to 'Go to Jail' for Son

Frederick Breedon/WireImage(CAPE CORAL, Fla.) -- Mindy McCready now faces serious legal trouble after missing a judge's deadline to return her 5-year-old son Zander to Florida, but the troubled country singer has given no indication if or when she plans to bring him home.

Authorities are now calling this case a parental abduction. The FBI has released a missing person poster and Lee County, Fla., family court judge James Seals has signed a new order, telling law enforcement nationwide to take Zander into custody upon sight.

McCready responded by saying she's willing to risk jail to protect her son.

The Florida Department of Children and Families told ABC News, "Once the child is located, we will pick him up and bring him back to Florida. His safety and well-being are our number one priority."

The boy's father and McCready's ex-boyfriend Billy McKnight told NBC Friday that he spoke on the phone with the singer and their boy after the judge's deadline expired.

"He did sound healthy and ok. He wasn't crying or scared," McKnight said about Zander.

"I think she believes she has a case and doesn't realize she's pushing her luck on this one," he added.

McCready has been involved in a messy custody battle over the boy with her mother, Gayle Inge, and her ex. Zander lives in Cape Coral, Fla., with his grandmother, who has legal custody of him. He is allowed to stay with his father on occasion, but can only see McCready on supervised visits.

"Zander is used to being in Florida with me and her mother. I'm worried about him being moved around," McKnight told HLN Thursday.

At some point during a visit on Tuesday, McCready took Zander and fled to Nashville.

Seals ordered McCready to return to Lee County, Fla., by 5 p.m. Thursday, but the singer has now made it clear that she has no intention of doing that.

McCready could face felony charges for violating the court order and taking her son out of state, but right now authorities tell ABC News that they are focused on finding Zander.

Kelly Preston: Scientology Center Helped Her Cope with Son's Death

GABRIEL BOUYS/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Kelly Preston relied on her faith to help her cope with the death of 16-year-old son Jett from a seizure in 2009.

Preston said in the September issue of Health magazine, "To be honest, it was the Scientology Center.  I don't know if I would have made it through without it.  We've been able to navigate through it and to come to a place that is a lot better."

The 48-year-old actress added, "Don't sweat the small things.  Love your kids like it could be the last moment."

Her children with John Travolta include daughter Ella Bleu, who is now 11, and son Benjamin, who was born in November.

Preston told Health, "I've always wanted to be a mother, ever since I was 11."

She noted that even early on in her career she was appearing in television commercials for thousands of dollars, but said she would still "babysit for $3 an hour" because she loved doing it.

Preston has 40 movies to her credit including the upcoming film about the Mafia-linked Gotti family, in which she'll play Victoria Gotti opposite her husband, John Travolta, and daughter, Ella.

Stephanie Seymour and Peter Brant Jr.: Too Close for Comfort or Mother-Son Love?

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Supermodel Stephanie Seymour, 41, and her son, Peter Brant Jr., 18, provoked "ewws!" across the Internet after photographs of them hugging and kissing on a beach in St. Barts appeared online. In one photograph, Brant Jr. appears to be kissing Seymour on the mouth and brushing his hand over her breast.

On Tuesday, Brant Jr. (Seymour's eldest son with her current and second husband, billionaire Peter Brant) rebuked his virtual critics on his Facebook fan page and released a statement to the press.

"I would just like to say that these pictures have been taken completely out of context, my mother and i are very close as she is with all her children," he wrote, grammatical errors included. "she often hugs and kisses me and my siblings in a manner that is intimate, any mother in the world does the same. that day on the beach we walked around with each other completely aware of the presence of photographers there."

Brant Jr. added that because he's gay, it's different.

"We have nothing to hide and with that in mind I would like to say that I am openly gay," he wrote. "At my age my mother and I are almost like friends and I feel open to talk to her about anything (and yes our relationship may be different because of my sexuality)."

On his Facebook page, which as of this morning boasted more than 1,400 fans, Brant Jr. gave his thumbs up to messages of support and continued to hit back at the naysayers.

"This is not only a malicious attack on my family's privacy but also on me personaly," he wrote in one poorly spelled post. "Some positve press ... Even though I look awful in half these photos!," he said in another.

A representative for Seymour did not immediately respond to ABCNews.com's requests for comment.

It's not the first time people have gawked at PDA between famous family members.

Last April, 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord made blog headlines after kissing her sister, Angel McCord, on the mouth.

And in 2000, celebrating her Oscar win for Girl, Interrupted, Angelina Jolie shocked the world by planting long kiss on the lips of her older brother, James Haven Voight.
