(ATLANTA) -- Soulja Boy tweeted that Tuesday would be "BUSY AND HUGE VERY HISTORICAL" because of his Soulja Boy: The Movie DVD release, but the 21-year-old rapper found himself in jail instead. He and four others were arrested early Tuesday morning in Temple, Ga., after an alleged traffic violation caught the eye of police, leading to the discovery of "a lot of marijuana" in the Cadillac Escalade in which the group was riding.
A spokesman for Temple police tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that cash and guns were also found in the vehicle. Published reports say investigators are trying to determine whether the men had proper licenses for the firearms.
Officers took Soulja -- born DeAndre Cortez Way -- and the others, including a hired driver, to Carrol County jail on charges of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Billboard reports that police denied a TMZ report based on a source's claim that the cash and drugs found in the car were valued at around $70,000.
