Star Jones Returns to 'The View'

Alexandra Wyman/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Six years after departing The View on uneasy terms, Star Jones on Wednesday made a guest appearance on the ABC daytime talk show.

The ladies revisited Jones' final days as co-host of the show, with Barbara Walters explaining that in 2006 Jones' contract was not renewed and that Jones subsequently stunned her colleagues by announcing she was leaving the program.

Jones seemed reluctant at first to take the trip down memory lane, saying, "Are we really going to go here, Barbara?  Do we care at this point?  I honestly don't."  She eventually said, "It was ugly...It was a bad emotional time...I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms."

Jones said she had eight fantastic years on the show and one year that was "eh."

Walters and co-host Joy Behar also noted that they had been forced to keep secret Jones' 2003 gastric bypass surgery.  Walters said the co-hosts tried to "protect" Jones -- who initially responded to rumors about her surgery with denials -- and said during the reunion that was a private matter she didn't want to be made public at the time.

Jones, who underwent open heart surgery in 2010, appeared on the show to raise awareness of heart disease.

Star Jones: “I believe in the jury system & accept the verdict...but I can't take smiles from Casey Anthony right now. She may be Not Guilty...but her baby is dead!”

Carson Daly: “That jury better get into hiding.”

Jay Leno reacted to the verdict during his monologue on Tuesday’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  Referring to the jury that found O.J. Simpson not guilty, Leno joked, “Apparently what happened was the O.J. jury retired and moved to Florida.  This is their first time back.”

Star Jones’ Ex Demands 50 Grand for TV Insult

Alexandra Wyman/WireImag(NEW YORK) -- The ex-husband of former View co-host and fired Celebrity Apprentice contestant Star Jones is reportedly demanding 50 thousand dollars from his former wife for allegedly trashing him on TV.

The New York Post reports Al Reynolds is furious with Jones for going on The Wendy Williams Show in March and slamming him when she said, “You know what...the wedding was fabulous, but the marriage was kind of booty.”  The couple was married for almost four years.

Sources tell the Post that Jones and Reynolds agreed in their 2008 divorce papers that they would not make “disparaging remarks” about each other, and that a breach of the clause requires the offending party to pay a $50,000 “liquidated damage penalty.”  A rep for Jones declined to comment on the money demand, but the newspaper quotes a source close to her as saying Reynolds "is going back to the well and grasping at straws to stay in the limelight."
