Usher’s Former Stepson Dies Two Weeks After Jet Ski Accident

Photo by Anthony Mandler(LOS ANGELES) -- Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, are mourning the death of her 11-year-old son.

Kile Glover, who was struck by a jet ski at Atlanta’s Lake Lanier July 6, died Saturday morning, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Glover had been on life support after the accident. WSB-TV in Atlanta reports he died of heart failure.

Glover was riding on an inner tube with a teenage girl when they were struck by the Jet Ski, reportedly driven by a family friend, Jeffrey S. Hubbard. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Sgt. Mike Burgamy of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources told ABCNews.com July 11 that the accident was still under investigation, and that the lead investigators had yet to talk with the district attorney’s office. Burgamy said authorities would determine how to proceed after the boy’s condition became clearer.

He has not returned a request for comment today.

Usher Looking to Settle Custody Battle After Stepson’s Accident?

Image credit: Anthony Mandler(ATLANTA) -- Word is that Usher wants to end the child custody battle over his two sons with his ex-wife Tameka Raymond and settle with her after the Jet Ski accident that reportedly left her 11-year-old son Kyle Glover brain dead.

TMZ reports that sources close to the former couple say that over the weekend Usher suggested that he and Tameka share 50-50 custody of their boys, and that he slightly increase his child support payments.

When Tameka declined, sources say that Usher tried again, telling his lawyers to come up with a new proposal that would give Tameka a greater share of custody. As part of the deal, Usher would also significantly beef up his child support offer, according to TMZ’s sources.

Usher backed out of his performance at the ESPYs on Wednesday night following Kyle’s accident over the weekend.

Sources tell TMZ that it’s possible that Usher’s changed his mind about the custody case because he’s aware of how much Tameka is suffering with Kyle in the hospital, and the singer doesn’t want to move forward with the legal battle under the circumstances.

TMZ cites sources saying the new custody deal hasn’t yet been presented to Tameka, but they say that she’s open to a “reasonable settlement.”

Usher’s Stepson’s Accident Still Under Investigation

Image credit: Anthony Mandler(ATLANTA) -- The investigation continues into the Jet Ski accident that reportedly left Usher’s 11-year-old stepson, Kyle Glover, brain dead.

Sgt. Mike Burgamy of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources told ABC News today that the accident is still under investigation, and that the lead investigators have yet to talk with the district attorney’s office. Glover’s prognosis will determine how they proceed.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with the 11-year-old,” Burgamy said. “We’re going to have to see what his condition is going to be before we present findings of the case.”

Jeffrey S. Hubbard, 38, a friend of Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, is at the center of the investigation. “He was interviewed, and it’s possible he may be reinterviewed,” Burgamy said. Attempts by ABC News to reach Hubbard were not successful.

Hubbard was driving a Jet Ski that collided with an inner tube holding Kyle and an unidentified 15-year-old girl on July 8.  The two were airlifted to an Atlanta hospital, where Kyle still remains.

Burgamy said Kyle was hit in the head and did not respond at the scene. He was found face up in water; the unidentified girl was found face down. The girl sustained a broken arm and a laceration to her head, according to ABC News affiliate WSB.

Burgamy said neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have played a part in the accident.

Kyle is Foster’s son with Atlanta TV executive Ryan Glover. Usher and his ex-wife made headlines this year amid a bitter custody dispute over their two children.  But Friday’s accident has brought them together, according to the celebrity-tracking website TMZ, which said Usher had chartered a plane for Foster, who was out of town at the time of the accident, so she could be at her son’s side.

Kelly Clarkson Reportedly Dating Reba’s Stepson

ROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Rumors have been flying about Kelly Clarkson’s love life ever since she told a Canadian radio station earlier this month that she had a boyfriend. The rumor was that the lucky guy is Blake Shelton’s manager, Brandon Blackstock, the son of Clarkson’s manager, Narvel Blackstock.

Now, sources tell Us Weekly that it’s true, and Blackstock and Clarkson are, in fact, dating. Narvel Blackstock is married to Reba McEntire, which makes Brandon Reba McEntire’s stepson.

An insider tells the magazine, “Before Brandon, Kelly had a really tough time with love. He’s just what she needed.”

Clarkson’s record label did not respond to ABC News Radio’s request for comment about the relationship.

Sharp-eyed fans may have noticed that Clarkson and Blackstock have been seen exchanging somewhat flirty tweets with one another over the past few months.

Mickey Rooney Sues Stepson, Alleges Financial and Verbal Abuse

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Mickey Rooney is suing his stepson, claiming that his stepson has financially and verbally abused him over the past 10 years.

According to Rooney's lawsuit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles, stepson Christopher Aber gained access to the 90-year-old actor's bank accounts and applied for credit cards under the name of the company that manages Rooney's professional activities. The lawsuit further states that Aber "regularly used intimidating behavior, verbal abuse, bullying, false or misleading statements, threats and humiliation (both privately and publically) to manipulate Mickey to act for Chris's own financial gain."  As a result, the lawsuit alleges, Rooney was denied his own income and suffered depression.

In February, Rooney obtained a temporary restraining order against Aber after making similar allegations, and a Los Angeles judge appointed a conservator to protect his finances. The actor's lawsuit also targets Aber's wife.
