(PHOENIX) -- A stuntman suffered a severe head injury while filming the superhero film The Avengers in Arizona on Friday.
Jeremy Fitzgerald was shooting a scene in which he was to fall 30 feet off a building, but he somehow caught his foot on the way down and slammed his head against a brick wall, according to TMZ.com. The accident left him with a bloody scalp, but he went to the hospital, got some stitches and went right back to work.
A Marvel spokesperson told TMZ.com Fitzgerald was fine, adding, "He slid briefly along the side of the building. He got right back up and did several more takes."
The Avengers, which is expected to open in May 2012, features an all-star cast that includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and Samuel L. Jackson.
