Twelve-Year-Old Boy Admits to 'Swatting' Ashton Kutcher

Charles Eshelman/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- A 12-year-old boy has admitted to "swatting" Ashton Kutcher last fall.

The boy, whose name has not been released and who was charged last month in the case, admitted on Monday to making a false bomb threat and computer intrusion, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors have said Los Angeles police officers were sent to Kutcher's home on Oct. 3 in response to a 911 call falsely indicating that armed men were inside.

The boy had also been accused of making false 911 calls involving Justin Bieber's home as well as a Los Angeles bank, but those charges are expected to be dismissed when he is sentenced.

A sentencing date has not been set.

Twelve-Year-Old Boy Charged in Ashton Kutcher Swatting Case

Charles Eshelman/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- A 12-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a swatting incident involving Ashton Kutcher that occurred in October.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said on Thursday that the boy, whose name has not been disclosed due to his age, has been charged with two felony counts each of making false bomb threats and computer intrusion.

Prosecutors say Los Angeles police officers were sent to Kutcher's home on Oct. 3 in response to a 911 call falsely indicating that armed men were inside.

The boy has also been charged in connection with a prank emergency call regarding a Los Angeles bank that occurred a week later.

The boy will be arraigned on Friday.

In December, Los Angeles police said they had arrested a juvenile they believed was involved in the Kutcher incident, as well as another swatting case in which Justin Bieber was the victim.

Tom Cruise the Victim of 'Swatting' Incident

ABC/RICK ROWELL(BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.) -- It appears Tom Cruise has become the latest celebrity victim of "swatting," a term used for prank phone calls made with the intention of getting police officers sent to an unsuspecting home.

The Beverly Hills Police Department says it received a 911 call Thursday morning regarding an armed robbery in progress at a home.  Officers responded to the Beverly Hills, Calif., residence, which turned out to be Cruise's, and they determined there was no emergency there.

Neither Cruise nor his family members were home at the time.

Police are investigating the matter as a false report.

Last month, Los Angeles police said they arrested a juvenile they believe was involved in swatting incidents involving Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber.  Miley Cyrus and Simon Cowell were also victims of swatting incidents in 2012.

Juvenile Arrested in Connection with Celeb Swatting Incidents

Photodisc/Digital Vision/Thinkstock(LOS ANGELES) -- Los Angeles police have arrested a juvenile they believe was involved in swatting incidents involving Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber.

"Swatting" is a term used to describe phone calls made to police with the intention of having officers sent to an unsuspecting home as a hoax.

The juvenile, who lives in the Southern California area but whose name and age have not been revealed, was arrested on Dec. 10.  Los Angeles prosecutors are now reviewing the case.

In the Kutcher incident, police received a call that people were inside the actor's home with guns and explosives, and that several people had been shot.  The Bieber incident occurred a week later.

Miley Cyrus and Simon Cowell were also victims of swatting this year, but the Los Angeles Police Department's press release doesn't mention those incidents.
