Pippa Middleton Completes Cross-Country Ski Marathon in Sweden

Chris Jackson/Getty Images(LONDON) -- Pippa Middleton competed in a 56-mile cross-country ski marathon in Sweden on Sunday to raise money for charity, according to published reports.

The sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, came in 412th place in the Vasaloppet ski race, finishing in 7 hours, 13:36 minutes, among 15,800 competitors.

Middleton’s brother, James, who also competed in the race, finished in 6 hours, 47:27 minutes.

The siblings participated in the race to raise money for a children’s charity.

“My brother and I are raising money for Magic Breakfast, a small registered charity that fights child hunger through breakfast clubs and delivering free breakfasts (bagels, cereal, juice and porridge) to thousands of state primary school children in the UK, particularly our inner cities,” Pippa Middleton wrote on her fundraising page.

According to the website, she raised £7,602.00 ($12,037) from 119 donors.

Like her sister, Pippa Middleton is an avid athlete and has been photographed running, ice skating, swimming and playing tennis. She played field hockey as a child.

The Vasaloppet race is one of the world’s oldest annual cross-country ski races and is held on the first Sunday of March between the Swedish villages of Salen and Mora.

Elvis Presley’s Alleged Long-Lost Swedish Daughter Sues

Hulton Archive/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- A Swedish woman who claimed she is Lisa Marie Presley and even wrote a book about her ordeal filed suit against the King of Rock and Roll’s estate for libel and emotional damages she claimed she suffered after she received a scathing letter from the Presleys’ lawyer.

Lisa Johansen filed suit in U.S. District Court last week, seeking $130 million for libel and emotional damages.

“One need look at little more than the description of her ludicrous tome on Amazon to recognize that, at best, Lisa Johansen is delusional,” Hollywood attorney Marty Singer wrote on behalf of the Presley estate.

Johansen published a memoir called I, Lisa Marie: The True Story of Elvis Presley’s Real Daughter in 1998.

“Dazed by grief over the sudden death of her famous father, the young girl is whisked from her life in America to the obscurity of a comfortable exile in Scandinavia. It is for her own safety that she must assume a new identity until she comes of age to take her rightful place as the sole heir of a huge estate,” reads a description of the book.

“Lisa Marie (aka Lisa Johansen) Presley” has been known to certain members of the Presley family ever since she began making the strange claim many years ago that she was Lisa Marie Presley,” Singer wrote.

He said the family remained intent on taking the “high road,” despite Johansen’s behavior.

Singer wrote of several bizarre instances involving Johansen, including the time when she tricked staff into letting her into restricted areas of Graceland.

She “fled when a security alarm rang,” Singer wrote, adding that “she was later seen on surveillance video after removing items from the property.”

A representative from Graceland declined to comment on the suit.
