(LOS ANGELES) -- Former Law & Order: LA actor Terrence Howard has been slapped with a restraining order from his estranged wife, reports TMZ.
An L.A. County Superior Court judge granted Michelle Howard a temporary restraining order Tuesday that bars the actor from going near or contacting her.
In court papers, Michelle Howard, who filed for divorce last February, claims she has been subjected to physical abuse at the hands of the actor beginning in January 2010, just after the couple married. She claims the actor “slugged me across my face and neck” and allegedly threatened to throw her over a balcony.
Michelle Howard also claims the actor told her, "If you tell anyone about my personal business, I will kill you and no one will ever know."
Terence Howard has filed his own court papers refuting the allegations. Howard claims his soon-to-be ex has been threatening to “release private materials to third parties for her own personal financial gain” unless he pays her money.
TMZ says its sources allege the "private materials" include video footage of Terrence Howard singing naked in the shower.
