David Cassidy Owed Millions in 'Partridge' Profits?

Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- David Cassidy was one of the stars of the iconic 1970s sitcom The Partridge Family, but he doesn’t feel like he was paid like a true star. The actor is suing Sony, which distributed the series, claiming he's owed profits from Partridge Family merchandise.

According to TMZ.com, Cassidy claims he signed a contract in 1971 -- the year after The Partridge Family debuted -- promising him 15 percent of net merchandising revenues for the use of his image or likeness, as well as 7.5 percent of revenues generated by other merchandise related to the show. He says about $500 million in profits were raised from Partridge Family merchandise, but he's only received a cut of $5,000.

Cassidy, whose suit alleges breach of contract and fraud, is seeking millions of dollars in damages.
