New Trial Ordered in Former "Price Is Right" Model Termination Case

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- A new trial has been ordered for a former Price Is Right model who claimed pregnancy discrimination and wrongful termination, and was awarded millions of dollars in punitive damages last year.

Brandi Cochran, who was a model on The Price Is Right for seven years, claimed in her 2010 lawsuit against the show's producers that co-workers insulted her while she was pregnant.  She also alleged that producers rejected her when she tried to return to work in 2010 after maternity leave.

Cochran was awarded $7.7 million in punitive damages, and $775,000 in compensatory damages.

The office of Cochran's lawyer confirmed to ABC News Radio on Tuesday that a new trial has been ordered.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cochran's judgment has been erased because the jury did not receive full instructions on deciding a discrimination case, as stipulated by the California Supreme Court after her first trial.

A new trial date has not yet been set.

Come On Down! "The Price Is Right" Turns 40

CBS Photo Archive/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- If we told you that as of today, The Price Is Right had been on the air 40 years, would you say the actual number of years is higher or lower than that?

That's right -- September 4 marks the 40th anniversary of the iconic CBS game show, the current version of which debuted in 1972, hosted by Bob Barker from its debut until 2007, when current host Drew Carey took over.  However, the show actually debuted on television in 1956, hosted by Bill Cullen, and ended in 1965. There were also a handful of syndicated versions that lasted only a few years each.

The consecutive 40-year run of the present incarnation of The Price Is Right makes it the longest-running game show in U.S. television history.  The show is also one of the most imitated, with dozens of current and former versions airing in countries around the world.

In celebration of today's anniversary, CBS is airing a special The Price Is Right featuring highlights and contestants from past shows.

Maury Phillips/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Did you catch Snoop Dogg’s appearance Monday on The Price is Right?

The rapper played several games and collected $72,585 for his Snoop Youth Football League, and then took on the role of announcer in describing fabulous showcase prizes for contestants.

One of the showcases featured a trip to New Orleans for a three-night stay to enjoy Snoop’s upcoming Voodoo Music Festival. The prize included an all-access VIP pass backstage, including the rapper’s dressing room, which host Drew Carey pointed out was “priceless.”

That showcase also included a brand new car. Snoop also wrote his name on a number of Price is Right nametags which were raffled off.

'Price Is Right' Model Sues Producers for Alleged Sexual Harassment

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- A former Price Is Right model is suing two producers for alleged wrongful termination and sexual harassment, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Lanisha Cole, who joined the popular CBS game show in 2003, claims that in late 2009, producer Michael Richards -- no relation to the actor of the same name who played Kramer on Seinfeld -- began giving her the silent treatment and played favorites with another model with whom he was involved in a relationship.

Cole further alleges that producer Adam Sandler -- not the comedic actor -- berated her in her dressing room in September 2010 for not wearing a microphone while she was wearing very little clothing and was surrounded by other models.  Cole says she eventually filed a complaint but was subsequently told that she was "holding the show hostage."  She left The Price Is Right last December.

The Price Is Right host Drew Carey is not accused of any wrongdoing in the matter.  Various reports on the lawsuit -- which also names production company FremantleMedia North America as a defendant -- do not state the amount of damages Cole is seeking.
