'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' Rules MTV Movie Awards

John Rogers/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- The cast of Twilight made its presence felt at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, winning five awards.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which entered the ceremony with a leading eight nominations, was named top film, and stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart received best male performance and best female performance honors, respectively.

Pattinson provided the two most memorable moments of the broadcast.  As he and Stewart accepted their award for best kiss, they teased an onstage smooch.  But in a twist, Pattinson decided to run off into the crowd and kiss his co-star Taylor Lautner instead.

Pattinson also caught MTV off-guard while helping to present the Generation Award to Reese Witherspoon for her career achievements. He said he had a credit in her 2004 film Vanity Fair, but she had his scenes cut from the final product. He noted that they reunited in this year's Water for Elephants, and that while he did not have her edited from the film, he did "f**k" her.  MTV was unable to censor the word in time.

Seven-year-old Alexys Nycole Sanchez was the youngest winner of the night by far. In receiving the award for best line from a movie, she thanked her friends, family and fans before repeating her popular quote from the comedy Grown Ups: "I want to get chocolate wasted."

The MTV Movie Awards was used as a platform to hype three hotly-anticipated movies. Sneak peeks of Super 8, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn aired during the broadcast.

There were also two musical performances during the broadcast: the Foo Fighters played their new single "Walk," and Lupe Fiasco joined forces with Trey Songz on "Out of My Head" before performing "The Show Goes On."

Saturday Night Live cast member Jason Sudeikis hosted the ceremony, kicking things off with a Hangover parody that starred himself, Lautner, Eva Mendes, and Hangover series star Justin Bartha.  Arnold Schwarzenegger was the target of many of Sudeikis' jokes during his opening monologue.
