Details of Tom and Katie’s Divorce Settlement Revealed

Europa Press/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- There’s apparently a good reason why Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were able to settle their divorce rather quickly: They didn’t have a lot to negotiate. quotes sources familiar with the couple’s court documents as saying Katie did not receive a lump sum payout, as per a pre-nup agreement, or even spousal support.  TMZ reports Cruise has a $250 million fortune.

The website reports Tom does have to pay Katie $400,000 a year in child support for their daughter Suri.  That breaks down to $33,333.33 a month, which must be paid via electronic transfer.

According to settlement papers, Tom must pay child support for Suri until she turns 18.  The actor is also required to pay her medical expenses and education costs, including college.  The couple has agreed that Suri will not attend a “residential school” from now through high school, which means she can’t be sent away to boarding school.

Tom Cruise Leads Paparazzi on High-Speed Chase

James Devaney/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Actor Tom Cruise made his action movie career a reality Wednesday when he allegedly led paparazzi on a high-speed chase through Manhattan.

The recently divorced actor, along with his 6-year-old daughter, Suri, led paparazzi on a 20-minute chase through Manhattan's West Side, according to the New York Daily News.

The Rock of Ages actor and his daughter left the Greenwich Hotel in Manhattan’s Lower West Side in a black Chevy Suburban Wednesday afternoon and headed toward a heliport at 12th Avenue and West 29th Street, blowing through red lights along the way.

At least 10 cars and six motorcyclists and bicyclists followed Cruise as his SUV reached 20 mph beyond the speed limit, according to the Daily News. One van was even pulled over by police.

The chase came just two days after Suri got into a fender bender with her mom, actress Katie Holmes. The pair was traveling on the West Side of Manhattan Monday evening when their chauffeured car was struck by a garbage truck, E! News reported. Neither Holmes nor her daughter were hurt and there was only minor damage to their Mercedes.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old actress was spotted Wednesday heading solo to a spin class in New York City, according to the Daily Mail.

Holmes and Cruise settled their divorce July 9. Suri is their only child.

Jennifer Lopez "Sad" About Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Split

Theo Wargo/WireImage for Tommy Hilfiger(NEW YORK) -- Jennifer Lopez spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday night about her friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' recent split.

Lopez, who has been through a few divorces over the years herself, said, "I'm sad for them." She added, "They're both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it's not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can't anymore."

Lopez, who split from Marc Anthony last summer, said she hasn't spoken to Tom or Katie, but she has "thought about it a lot."  J-Lo first got word of the TomKat divorce when she was in South America, and she recalled being "stunned" by the news.

Lopez added that it's the children that often are affected the most by divorce -- Tom and Katie's daughter Suri, and his two children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Connor and Isabella.  She explained, "You know, I just wish them, you know, peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family, it's not just Suri, it's Connor and Isabella and everybody, you know, you all become a family. And when that breaks apart, nobody wins, everybody's heartbroken in some way. And I just wish them peace."

Tom Cruise's Lawyer Threatens to Sue over "National Enquirer" Cover

ABC/RICK ROWELL(LOS ANGELES) -- Tom Cruise's lawyer is not happy after laying his eyes on a new National Enquirer cover article that claims the Mission: Impossible star is a "monster" who held his "abused" ex-wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri in a "House of Horrors."

Attorney Bert Fields sent a letter Wednesday to Enquirer publisher American Media slamming the story, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which obtained a copy of the letter.

"Your cover announces, as a fact, that 'THE REAL TOM CRUISE IS A MONSTER,'" Fields writes.  "Mr. Cruise is certainly not a 'monster.'  He is a caring father, a hardworking actor and, above all, an honest, decent man...This is the most defamatory cover the Enquirer has ever done."

The article explains Suri was "forced" into a five-month stay in a "tiny, windowless room."

Fields' letter counters with, "Mr. Cruise's home in Telluride, like his home in Beverly Hills, is a pleasant and loving home," and says of Suri, "She spent most of her time with Tom and Katie.  She slept in a nursery adjoining their bedroom.  It has a window."

Fields wants a full retraction and apology for "each and every one of [the] false allegations about Mr. Cruise."

Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- It seems Katie Holmes isn't alone in wanting to move on.

Tom Cruise Back on Movie Set After Quickie Divorce Settlement

ABC/RICK ROWELL(LOS ANGELES) -- After a quick divorce, Tom Cruise was back on the set of his upcoming film Oblivion on Tuesday.

The 50-year-old actor agreed to a settlement with Katie Holmes on Monday after the actress filed for divorce on June 28 after six years of marriage.

According to People magazine, Cruise flew from Los Angeles to Mammoth Lakes, Calif., where his project is expected to film throughout the week.  The actor was seen receiving sympathetic hugs from his colleagues on set Tuesday, Us Weekly reports.

Cruise was shooting the sci-fi thriller in Iceland when he was reportedly blindsided by the news of Holmes' intent to divorce.  Holmes reportedly was granted primary custody of their only child together, 6-year-old Suri.  Cruise is said to have visits but with "guidelines," a source told Us Weekly.

Meanwhile, his reps are deflecting rumors that Cruise's connection to his Oblivion co-star, former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, are anything but work-related.

"They are shooting a movie and they are actors," the rep tells the New York Post.  "Their chemistry on set is them acting.  It's their job."

Oblivion is set to hit theaters on April 26, 2013.

Did Katie Holmes Hide Divorce Plans by Using Disposable Cellphone?

Steve Granitz/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Katie Holmes' plan to divorce Tom Cruise was a top-secret affair.

The Los Angeles Times reports that prior to filing for divorce, Holmes used a disposable cellphone given to her by a friend that she used to contact lawyers without her husband's knowledge.

The actress and Cruise announced earlier this week that they have reached a divorce settlement.

Holmes is probably handling the divorce OK.

In an interview with Elle magazine excerpted Tuesday on Us Weekly's website, she says, "If something's not okay, then I make it known.  I will deal with things...the way my mom taught us girls how to be.  She stressed listen, learn, always be strong and be true to yourself."

MEHDI TAAMALLAH/AFP/GettyImages(NEW YORK) -- Less than two weeks after Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, the couple has agreed that daughter Suri should live primarily with her mother in New York.
