Tom Cruise Snores in Peace in Soundproof Bedroom

George Pimentel/Getty Images for Creative Artists Agency(LOS ANGELES) -- Tom Cruise has reportedly converted a guest bedroom at his Beverly Hills home into a refuge so he can snore without disturbing wife Katie Holmes.

Britain’s Daily Mail reports Cruise and other Hollywood stars are investing in soundproof bedrooms -- so-called “snoratoria” rooms -- where they can snore in peace.  Shortly after the couple married, it was reported that the two sometimes slept in separate rooms because of the actor’s snoring.

A visitor to Cruise’s home tells the newspaper, “Whoever uses the snoring room cannot be heard outside the locked door.  It’s very small, comfortable and dark, maybe a former nursery.”

Hollywood real estate agent Pierre Stooss tells the Mail snoratoria are growing in popularity, adding, “Sometimes it just starts as a temporary measure, but then word spreads and now everyone with the space wants one.”

'Top Gun' Turns 25

Paramount Pictures(NEW YORK) -- Monday, May 16 marks 25 years since Tom Cruise flew into the danger zone in U.S. theaters in the movie Top Gun.

His role as hot-shot Navy pilot Maverick, opposite Val Kilmer and Kelly McGillis, made the film a huge hit and spawned hit songs, aviator-inspired fashion and a new appreciation for fighter pilots.

But just how accurate was the film?  Not very, says Ward Carroll, the editor of the website, who was himself a Navy fighter pilot when the film debuted in 1986.

For example, he says the jargon the pilots use and the depiction of dog fights is miles away from reality, and he calls the plot "inaccurate and hackneyed." Still, Carroll says Top Gun was such a hit, it significantly boosted Navy recruitment numbers from its premiere through 1991, due in no small part to it being what Caroll calls "fighter porn."

As for why Top Gun still holds up a quarter-century later, Carroll says it's a story based on "the age-old themes of camaraderie and competition and living a life that is fast-paced, not something everybody can do, and is of great consequence."

Alec Baldwin Excited to Work with Tom Cruise on 'Rock of Ages'

PRNewsFoto/Turner Classic Movies(LOS ANGELES) -- Alec Baldwin, who's joined the cast of the upcoming film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages as former rocker Dennis Dupree, is excited about working opposite the musical's star and director.

Baldwin tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I'm excited to be able to work with Tom Cruise and Adam Shankman.  I love Adam. He directed the Oscars when I hosted, but to do a movie with Tom will be fun."

Baldwin added that he hired a voice coach because his character gets to sing, but he admitted it will be "something very modest; I might sing 'Yeah, yeah, yeah,' or something like that."  While his character singing is OK with him, Baldwin said you won't see him dancing. He explained, “It's not that kind of thing. It's not Glee, it's rock and roll."

Rock of Ages also stars former Dancing with the Stars pro Julianne Hough and singer Mary J. Blige.

Katie Holmes Sues 'Star' Magazine over Drug Addiction Allegations

Photo Courtesy - George Pimentel/ Getty Images for Creative Artists Agency(LOS ANGELES) -- Actress Katie Holmes has filed a $50 million libel lawsuit in federal court in Los Angeles against American Media Inc., the publisher of Star magazine, according to TMZ.

The lawsuit was filed after a recent cover of the magazine suggested that she was a drug addict.  The magazine ran the headline "Addiction Nightmare -- Katie Drug Shocker! -- The Real Reason She Can't Leave Tom."

TMZ reports that Holmes felt the cover is deliberately defamatory and libelous.  The suit reads, "Katie has no intention of leaving her husband, and is not prevented from doing so by any drug addiction."

Meanwhile, Holmes' lawyer told TMZ, "Star magazine's malicious claims about Katie are untrue, unethical, and unlawful.  Not only do they cruelly defame Katie, they play a cheap trick on the public, making ridiculously false claims on the cover unsupported by anything inside."
