Box Office Gets Animated, But Ticket Sales Remain Slow

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- It was a slow Oscar weekend at the box office, opening the door for an animated winner.

In its third week in release, Gnomeo & Juliet trumped the debut of the Farrelly Brothers comedy Hall Pass, which opened in second. Last week's winner, the Liam Neeson thriller Unknown, came in third.

Theater attendance remains weak, with revenues off at least 20 percent from last year.
