No 'Rock Band 4' Coming Out This Year

Harmonix/Rock Band(MINNEAPOLIS) -- If you were hoping for a copy of Rock Band 4 this holiday season, Santa isn't going to be able to help you out.

In an interview with Game Informer magazine, Chris Rigopulos, vice president of strategy and business for Harmonix, says that instead of releasing Rock Band 4 this year, the company will focus its energy on releasing new downloadable content for Rock Band 3.  New tracks from Ozzy Osbourne, Peter Frampton and Lady Gaga are expected to come out this month.

Rigopulos says Rock Band 3 "is a big game with lots of available music content and lots of new goals and challenges."  He adds that Harmonix is continuing to work on new ideas "to advance the Rock Band franchise" and those ideas will be released "when the time is right."

Gamers should be glad that Rock Band is at least still around.  In February, Activision announced it was discontinuing its once smoking hot Guitar Hero game in the wake of declining sales.´╗┐

Report: Beyonce Sued for Scrapping Video Game

KAZUHIRO NOGI/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- New York Magazine is reporting a software developer is suing Beyonce for more than $100 million, claiming she bailed out of a dance video game.

According to the suit, Gate Five says Beyonce's decision to pull out of the project "on what appeared to be a whim" not only "destroyed" the company's business, but "drove 70 people into unemployment, the week before Christmas."

Reportedly, the game -- titled Starpower: Beyonce -- would have utilized motion-capture video game systems like the Wii to let fans dance along with the star. The lawsuit claims the project was a go until Beyonce asked for more money, which scared off a major investor.

No comment yet from Beyonce's camp.
