Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Husband Wins Temporary Conservatorship

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Frederic von Anhalt, has been named temporary conservator of her estate by a Los Angeles judge, according to ABC News affiliate KABC.

The court ruling also ensures that Gabor’s daughter, Constance Francesca Gabor Hilton, will be allowed to visit the ailing actress once a week and receive statements detailing her finances on a monthly basis.

Anhalt and Hilton feuded publicly for months, but he told reporters that he was pleased with the outcome of Wednesday’s ruling, saying, “I’m the conservator now of my wife, so that’s good.” He added, “She’s doing fine.”

Under the new arrangements, Hilton will get weekly visits with her mother, but she must give notice 24 hours ahead of time. “The hope is that it will work well for the six months that we’ve agreed to have it in place,” Hilton’s attorney told reporters.

Gabor, 95, has been hospitalized on and off for the last two years.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz set another hearing for January 9 to evaluate how the agreement has worked.

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Daughter Feuds with Prince Frederic

Ron Galella/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Zsa Zsa Gabor’s 95th birthday party has driven an even deeper wedge between her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, and her daughter, Constance Francesca Gabor Hilton.

In a long statement to ABC News made by her representative, Edward Lozzi, Hilton called von Anhalt a “chronic narcissist” who is using her dementia-addled mother as a “self-promotional tool.” Among her grievances -- that he claimed such luminaries as Nancy Reagan and former Tonight Show host Steve Allen would be attending the Monday-night party held at Gabor’s Beverly Hills home. Allen the TV personality died in 2000. Von Anhalt told ABC News that he actually invited Allen from the L.A. branch of the Red Cross and he “had a good time.”

Hilton claimed von Anhalt is denying her access to her mother and said there will soon be “legal action slapping Mr. von Anhalt silly for a myriad of charges.”

Von Anhalt defended himself, telling ABC News, "Twenty-five years ago, my wife told me, ‘Don’t leave me alone with Francesca.’ She always asked her mother for money. I’ve respected my wife’s wishes.” As for the party, he said, “Entertainment keeps my wife alive and I will not stop doing it.”

Gabor’s eighth husband has been one of the most colorful characters in the actress’ life. He once stated that he had a decade-long affair with the late Anna Nicole Smith and could potentially be the father of her infant girl (he is not).

In 2007, he claimed that he was approached by three women in southern California who robbed him at gunpoint and stripped him naked, but authorities couldn’t find evidence of wrongdoing at the scene. And in 2010, he entered the California governor’s race as an independent, only to withdraw six months later, citing Gabor’s health problems.

Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized Again, Says Spokesman

Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after experiencing breathing problems and spitting up blood, according to a spokesman for the ailing star. Gabor, 94, has been in and out of the hospital since breaking her hip last summer.

The hospitalization comes on the eve of a donation of hundreds of clothing items she wore in film, TV shows and at the Oscars. Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, says the collection will go to The Vera Davis McLendon Youth and Family Center in California. The center is where Gabor did her community service in 1989 for slapping a police officer who had pulled her car over for a license violation.

"Most of the items were only worn a few times and she will never be able to wear them again," von Anhalt said in a press release.
