"The 35th Annual Kennedy Center Honors" Airs on CBS Wednesday

Brendan Hoffman/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- On Wednesday at 9 p.m. Eastern time, CBS will air The 35th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, a two-hour special showcasing the Washington, D.C., gala held earlier this month.

This year's honorees were Dustin Hoffman, David Letterman, the surviving members of the rock band Led Zeppelin, blues guitarist Buddy Guy and ballerina Natalia Makarova.

Among the celebrities who made appearances were Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jimmy Kimmel, Ray Romano, Liev Schreiber and Schreiber's partner, Naomi Watts.

The award recognizes recipients for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts.
