"The Disaster Artist" and "The Shape of Water" among this week's new releases

The Disaster Artist -- This dramedy, based on a true story, features Dave Franco as an aspiring actor who signs on to star in a project written, directed and financed by his buddy -- played by brother James Franco. Initially a critical flop, the film becomes a cult classic. Also starring Seth Rogan, Alison Brie and Zac Efron. Rated R.

The Shape of Water -- Guillermo del Toro's thriller stars Blue Jasmine's Sally Hawkins as a mute cleaning lady working in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1960s Baltimore. Her life changes when she and a co-worker -- played by Octavia Spencer -- discover the lab's secret, classified experiment. Rated R.

Wonder Wheel -- Set on New York's Coney Island in the 1950s, Woody Allen's latest yarn stars Kate Winslet as the wife of a carousel operator -- played by Jim Belushi -- who pursues the same man as her husband's estranged daughter -- portrayed by Vinyl's Juno Temple -- who is running from the mob Justin Timberlake also stars. Rated PG-13.

* Titanic -- James Cameron's Oscar-winning 1997 blockbuster -- starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as an aristocrat and poor 17-year-old who fall in love while aboard the ill-fated ocean liner -- celebrates its 20th anniversary with a one-week theatrical return. Rated PG-13.
