Vanessa Williams Not a Fan of 'Toddlers & Tiaras'

ABC/Donna Svennevik(NEW YORK) -- Vanessa Williams, a former Miss America winner, does not think highly of the TLC series Toddlers & Tiaras, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at child pageants.

In an episode of Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show that aired Thursday, the Desperate Housewives actress is asked if she thinks the kids on Toddlers & Tiaras are being pushed into the pageants. She replies, "I think they don't know what they are doing. But when the child is screaming and saying, 'I don't want to do this, I don't feel like doing it,' when they are using special juice to get them hyped...."

Cooper then interjects and explains that the "special juice," also known as "go-go juice," is a mix of Mountain Dew and 7-Up.

Williams, the mother of four children, says she would never let her kids participate in such pageants.

Williams in 1983 became the first African-American woman to win the Miss America crown, but she was later stripped of the title after nude photos of her surfaced.
