Was Katie Holmes Forbidden from Starring in "Dawson's Creek" Reunion?

Steve Granitz/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Ever since Katie Holmes filed for divorce from her husband of five years, Tom Cruise, there has been speculation he had been controlling and kept her out of the spotlight to the detriment of her career.

Us Weekly is reporting that Holmes was excited about the prospect of shooting a reunion movie for Dawson's Creek, the '90s teen soap that made her a star.  However, according to the magazine, Cruise was having none of it, calling the show "low brow."

A source tells the magazine, "Tom said absolutely no way and thought going backward would be bad."
