(NEW YORK) -- In the first interview with a Robertson family member since patriarch Phil's controversial comments on homosexuality, son Willie said he's ready to move on and resume work on their hit A&E series, Duck Dynasty.
Appearing on Fox News' All-American New Year special Tuesday night, Willie said during a live appearance from Steamboat Springs, Colo., “We’re just glad to get back to work, A&E and us are fine.”
Sitting alongside his wife Korie, Willie continued, “The Robertsons, we are looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows and it’s a new year, so we are ready to break in a new year and start it all over again.”
A&E suspended Phil for more than a week after he expressed his anti-gay stance to GQ. Willie told Fox News he and the rest of the family "all learned a lot and we are just ready to move on and the family is happy and we are ready to go.”
Production on Duck Dynasty will resume in the spring. In the meantime, the fifth season of the hit series is scheduled to begin Jan. 15 on A&E.
ABC is part owner of the A&E Network.
