Michigan Marine Killed in Afghanistan

(WASHINGTON) -- A Marine from Michigan has been killed while serving in Afghanistan, according to an announcement by the Department of Defense.

Twenty-six-year-old Sgt. Justin M. Hansen, of Traverse City, was killed on Tuesday during combat operations in Badghis province, Afghanistan, the department said in a news release.

Hansen was assigned to 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
