Michigan Roadwork to Be Suspended over Holiday Weekend
(LANSING, Mich.) -- The Michigan Department of Transportation is shutting down the majority of roadwork in the state over Memorial Day weekend to prevent traffic congestion, according to a report on MLive.com.
Ninety-four of the 132 projects in Michigan will come to a halt at 3 p.m. on Friday and resume at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Work will continue to be done at 38 work zones.
Kirk Steudle, the director of the Department of Transportation, is urging people to use their seat belts and refrain from using cellphones while driving, according to the report.
