Michigan Wine Competition Winners Announced
(LANSING, Mich.) -- Cheers! The results of the 34th annual Michigan Wine and Spirits Competition have been announced.
The competition was held on Tuesday at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing, and featured offerings from 53 of the state's 84 wineries. The contest, which is only open to wine and spirits produced from Michigan fruits, was judged by a number of wine experts from around the country.
On Thursday, the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development announced the results from the competition, including the following top award-winners:
- Best of Class Dry White: Chateau Fontaine – 2010 Dry White Riesling
- Best of Class Dry Red: Fenn Valley Vineyards – Capriccio
- Best of Class Sparkling Wine: L. Mawby – Cremant Classic
- Best of Class Rosé: Forty-Five North – 2010 Rosé of Cabernet Franc
- Best of Class Fruit Wine: Garden Bay Winery – Raspberry Wine
