More Men Undergoing Plastic Surgery

Jupiterimages/Thinkstock(ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.) -- More men than ever before are going under the knife for cosmetic surgery.

Statistics released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show increases in all types of plastic surgery for men, with facelifts leading the way with a 14 percent rise in 2010.  Male liposuction increased by seven percent.  The organization’s 2010 statistics show men underwent more than 1.1 million cosmetic procedures, both minimally-invasive and surgical.

Here are the fastest-growing male cosmetic procedures, by percentage increase from 2009 to 2010, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons:

1. Facelift -- 14 percent
2. Ear Surgery (Otoplasty) -- 11 percent
3. Soft Tissue Fillers -- 10 percent
4. Botulinum Toxin Type A -- 9 percent
5. Liposuction -- 7 percent
6. Breast Reduction in Men -- 6 percent
7. Eyelid Surgery -- 4 percent
8. Dermabrasion -- 4 percent
9. Laser Hair Removal -- 4 percent
10. Laser Treatment of Leg Veins -- 4 percent´╗┐
