(CAMBRIDGE, Mass.) -- Saying “I love you” – it’s a milestone for every couple, and it may surprise you to find out who is more likely to take that first big step.
New research by a psychologist at MIT finds that men are more likely than women to first say “I love you” in a new relationship. The data, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, shows that of 205 straight men and women who were asked about their current and past relationships, guys were more often the ones to take the plunge.
These findings go against past research that showed most people believe women are first to say “I love you.”
