(WASHINGTON) -- Smucker’s announced a voluntary recall on chunky peanut butter products Thursday, saying they could be contaminated with salmonella.
The company said the products in question are 16 oz. jars of Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter Chunky with best-if-used-by dates of Aug. 3, 2012 and Aug. 4, 2012.
The recalled peanut butter was distributed to Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.
There have been no illnesses reported in connection with the possibly tainted product, Smucker’s said.
